2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: January 31, 2021, 04:18:49 PM »

I installed "AfterMokit" Grip Covers for Big Hands Thicken Your Grips Snug Fit over 1.2-1.4 grips. These slide over your existing grips. They are for big hands and are large and fat. I chose these over the "Grip Puppies" which I've used on my Bandit, ST1300, FJR1300, and Concours. They were exceptionally nice over stock heated grips and transfer of heat was perfect, being foam.
"AfterMokit" brand on the Valkyrie 1800 because they fit over the existing grip without damaging or removing the old. They are bigger (Larger diameter) than the grip puppies which I like. They are also rubber and firmer than the Grip puppies which I like. They give me a better feel, better response, fingers don't overlap like on the small Goldwing diameter grips and more comfortable than a smaller diameter hard stock grip.
Review...for the Valkyrie 1800 I feel they are better than the Grip Puppies and half the price. If you have heated grips I would have to say the Grip Puppies would better serve heat transfer. If you were heavy winter gloves I think the size may be an issue. Hot Florida weather, big hands they are a winner.

I used to struggle lubricating and pushing pulling while installing these. I used my compressor shooting air inside and they shot right on in less time than it took to fire up the compressor. No kidding about 15 seconds each side.

I use and like the grip puppies but I’ll look into AfterMokit.
Thanks
