My left side heat chrome covers, the clamp rusted through. Just never thought about taking them off. I have access to a welder (friend) who can weld new clamps back on but it will screw up the chrome, more than likely. I have a post in Classified about used ones. Wondering though, I just ride the hell out of her and hardly shine the chrome, what would it take to just weld new clamps on, then just paint the out side a black or something. I know it will not hold up for years and years, but every few years i take off and repaint. No big deal to me.
Idea's and what you all think??

Maybe stainless steel screws to hold the clamps on rather than weld. Should be unnoticeable.

Try JB weld to put the clamps back on.

Send a picture to me of what you are looking for. I have a lot of exhaust covers and should have what you are looking for. Send to tim@gl1500f6.com and I will let you know
