I was thinking of them this morning and wondering if there were any updates on them or the condition of their friend.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and such.  We all made it to our house by 1800 hrs or so last night......two banged up bikes and their riders.  Heres the latest.  First, we were very blessed, it could have been much worse.  Judy and I didnt go to the hospital yesterday. Our friend did go yesterday and he had a couple broken fingers and a sprained ankle We thought, you are supposed to be sore when you crash land off a moving motorcyce and  go body surfing in gravel, so we didnt get transported from the scene.....I took care of the bikes and Judy's hand until our friend was released.  But neither of us could sleep for the pain and some scary side effects of some of the injuries, so we hauled ourselves to the base early this am.  Fortunately there were no real surprises....the doctor confirmed oour self diagnosis and we will be fine, but he did give us some "magic pills"  I have already had to correct the spelling on one out of every three words..........its amazing how typing on Vicotic is so easy but you cant read it.

Judy has a scuffed right hand....looks very tasty like a jelly donut all oozing and red.  but other than that she is good, which is fantastic because her neck is already compromised so a hard hit could have been a catastrophe.

I have a broken left thumb and a banged up right hip, but no fractures there just soft tissue damage

Damage to the Valk:
-right side crash bar toast (saved the day)
-windshield/hardware toast
-right cobra driving light smashed
-master cylinder (front brake) badly scuffed, brake handle gone
-switch box crushed
-mirrors gone
-right side valve cover peppered from gravel
-kury hiway peg gound down
-scuffed and I think bent handlebars
-one full face helmet that DID ITS JOB.........Im sold, no more cool half helmets

Hey Bro, good to hear you two are ok, though I wouldn't want even the battering you took.  If you could let us know what diameter that Cobra Light is, I may have one you can have.  It doesn't have the visor on it, but those are fairly inexpensive.  I would be happy to send it to you.

Glad to hear your ok.  My son went bike bowling into the back of my valk a couple years ago.  My valk didn't go down, ding in rear fender and right exhaust tip.  Totaled his triumph, and broke his wrist, road rash on shoulder and arm.  Also lucky.  +1 on the safety equipment.

Hope the pain goes away soon and your back on the road again.

I'm pretty sure I have some stock Standard mirror's out in the garage somewhere you can have them if needed.
I'm also thinking I have a front brake lever but I'll need to check it out it was on my blue/white that's been down and I can't remember if it's a good one...I'll go check it out and if it's good it's yours if needed.

Something to ponder.......after looking at the damage...I was wondering what took the right mirror off and how did the dhiled get broke where it did as onlythe end of the handle bar and switch box hit the ground........I think I went through the shield and my hip took out the mirror.  That wuld splain the PAIN I have, because it wasnt a HARD landing in the gravel and then a slide.  Im wondering what a thicker clearview made out of plexi would have done.  I have heard Honda uses lexan because you can launch right through it......albeit its not fun, but it did let me through if thtaast what happened   Cheesy  ???  Shocked

Take care, follow the doctors advice and heal up. Plenty of time to get the bike fixed. Like Magoo said, glad to hear you are doing OK but still sending thoughts & prayers.

Enjoy the drugs, they will help the pain, which helps the healing. Don't have any of the parts you need, but am wishing you and all a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear it was not worse.  I do have a oem brake and clutch lever if you need one.  Just get me your address, and it will be on the way. Have stock clutch and brake covers too if needed, but not the reservoirs.

Chris, in the future make sure you have an avenue of escape.

You could have probably avoided this fiasco if you were looking.

Heal fast and let the pain pills do their thing.

Not being a smart ass, just hope you will learn to watch these things.

Took me 6 weeks till I got the message after becoming a CHiP.

Was only rearended once, and that was enough for me.

I was looking at him until he got into the turning lane.  after that I figued he was turning and I needed to concentrate on turning around.  Thats when he changed his mind and tried to go through a huge patch of gravel heavy on his back brake.  Ya I could hve sped away if i had kept my eye on him a few more seconds, but once he moved over ....oh well s#*t happens

Did any of your tins get messed up?  It'd be a shame to leave some of that red and white out on that road.

You guys recover soon, I know you will want that ride fixed soon, get healed up good first. So sorry for the accident....you can't control everything that goes on around you, but as you did, you lessened your injury risk with the  cooldude good gear
