Have heard it said before, don't know where or when, that SOME cancers grow so slow that you would die of old age before it would get you. Ask for a second, third, or maybe even 4th opinion before treatment, if you have time. Good luck.

Get more opiniona AND DO SOMETHING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER. Do your own research as well.

Surgery is now done lapriscopically. Friend had it recently done in FL. Out of hospital in 3 days and he's running around like a spring chicken.

When I talked to you the other day on the phone and you told me this you could have knocked me over with a feather... Folks look at  prostate cancer like folks look at diabetes unless " THEY "  got it its no big deal. I watched diabetes take my Grand-mother and it took her hard...feet cut off then legs could'nt see anything. You need to deal with this immediately seek the best you can find and afford that chit get's loose in the body and before you know its eat you alive... Cancer runs ramped in my family and I've seen what it can do as well....Don't drag ass around on this Doyle move now and get the best doctor in the area to treat you....I wish you the best my friend .

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer just about three years ago.

I ended up going with a new procedure.  Seeds were implanted and then radiation 5 days a week for 8 weeks.  No surgery.  No depends.  Two and a half years now and going strong.

I bought my Valk and picked it up about a month after my treatments ended.  Bought in Colorado Springs and rode it 876 miles the first day headed towards home and had no discomfort or problems since.

All is possible brother.  Chin up and just remember, God is in control.

You are right about that, i found out that i have diabetes a few months ago. It scared the hell out of me. then they told me they found a spot on my lung and it was growing. then from the stress of all that i ended up in ICU for a few days. Well after $15,000 worth of test, i don't have cancer, it was just a spot from a fungus when i was a kid. My heart is ok, just need to slow down. The Diabetes is something i will have to learn and control. I am still scared because of the unknown, but i will take it one day at a time. I will slow down and stop working so much, and i will ride more next year that i have ever rode. I am going to enjoy life, I wish the best for all who have had a rough year.

Keep a positive attitude and go to a very good Dr.  When I was told in 2002 I needed a heart transplant or I wouldn't live 6 months. I went home got on the computer and found  the best transplant doctors within 500 mile range. I ended up going to
Vanderbilt, and got my transplant & am doing great! The doctors to this day tell me my good attitude was what saved my life! So please keep a positive outlook and keep making plans on riding & doing things with your family.

My hopes & prayers are with you Magoo!

My prayers are with you as you go through the norms of life.  Since February 2009 I have lost 7 members of my immediate family.  My mother.s house burnt 5 July, she is 91.  A month later we almost lost her.  I could go on but each time I look around I find someone who is less fortunate, or lucky as me who have had great losses and faced with difficulties that seem to make mine very minor.  No one can understand how or why it works like it does.  One thing is sure, we ain't in charge and it will all be explained to us one day if we keep the faith which strengthens us.  So have faith brother, there are hundreds out here praying for you.  Everything is going to ge ALRIGHT!!!

WOW !!!! That's a lot of bad for one year Doyle. The losses are something you can't fix, but the cancer is. I've heard prostrate cancer is one of the more treatable cancers. I have faith that you will beat it Magoo. Carolyn and I will add you to our prayer list.

Magoo, One of my best friends had prostate cancer that had spread into liver and stomach this past 2 years and he has beat it and been cancer free for a year, works every day like a dog and feels great.  Like Joe said, get a hold of it now before it moves on, you can beat it!

But, 09 was my worse year too!

My condolences on the loss of your family.

Like they've already said, get at it now, don't put it off.

Keep it positive, mentally, the mind can eat you up right along with the "C", sometimes sooner if you let it.

Keep us posted.

We're all with you!
