Surprising or not. A billionaire in Texas decides to no longer play our National Anthem before his teams games. Will it be a trend? Will fans (when they can return) notice or care? It’s a head scratcher for me.

I hope it is a trend. These organizations no longer deserve the privilege of borrowing our Anthem.

If he is disrespecting the anthem (and country) by not playing it, then he can suck my nuts.

But if he is not playing it so members of the team (and others) can't use it for political theater to disrespect it, it's hard to argue with that motivation.

Paraphrasing Will Rodgers:  When the baby gets hold of a hammer, it's best to take it away from him.

    
EDIT:  First time I ever heard of this, I thought the simple solution was to stop playing it.  If they want to disrespect it, then don't play it for them.  They don't deserve it.

Now that's a surprise.... Even the left wing NBA aren't okay with this, they're forcing his hand to not do this:

They should play the Anthem, but the instant one player kneels or does any other political charade, the anthem should immediately stop and be replaced by this (loud and clear).  So everyone can laugh.

Or simply drop the Anthem entirely, for good.
