I got this Interstate tank Monday and I’m wondering if the dent can be pulled with one of those glue pulling setups for paint less dent repairs. I’m not trying to save the paint as I don’t have a green bike. I just thought I might want to try and pull it back into shape myself. What say you?

I’d give it a try. You may need to use heat but since the paint doesn’t matter

It may be worth it to take it to one of those dent puller places. They can do some amazing things.

here in the middle of nowhere in NC Ohio, the dealerships use the same dent puller that makes his rounds in his mobile unit. i would just ask a dealer when his next schedule day is and make an app with him.

The pictures show a pretty good crease at the bottom of the divot.

That is going to be tough to just pull out.

Me, I'd find the right shop to fix and paint it all together.

You can always make it worse on your own.  (I know I can)

(Not that it matters), that didn't happen in a git off, something fell on it.

Having had a couple of tanks repaired, I can tell you how not to do it.

That metal is so thin that any real heat applied can easily cause a hole in the tank.   Had to have a tank repaired and painted a second time because the repairer used a stem welded to the tank and then pulled the dent.    That dent later started leaking precisely where he welded the "stem" to it.

I have a few highly skilled buds in body & paint business. They could straighten that tank perfectly where no body filler would be required. As far as pulling pins go, when called for I have seen them use glue on pins.
Can't use hammer & dolly here it will need to be pulled.
I have been amazed witness one guy hammer & dolly a '30's front fender and then shrink the metal with a process using a metal wheel on a grinder to heat the high spots, then cool the metal to shrink it. The process is repeated until the metal is back to the original shape. This not for do it yourselfers.
I would just pull it with glue on pins before you remove the paint and then hit it with a blaster and fill the rest.
