Hoping the trip itself is going smoothly and it's just the tracker app not working, but it's not been updated in 4 hours now...

That's a relief.  I thought it wasn't tracking because Rams was driving so fast the tracker couldn't keep up.   Smiley

If his phone is an Android it's likely the OS is putting the app to sleep to save battery.

There's some work around here to keep it updating:

https://glympse.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001989866-Android-7-0-Glympse-Battery-Optimization

Although I realize this is very low on the priority list of things the road crew is concerned with...

The tracking program isn't fully cooperating, but they are having issues with the trailer (no trailer brakes, no lights) and will be stopping in Weatherford to have it looked at.  If anyone knows much about this particular trailer, let Rams know.
That’s a big, heavy trailer. Hope they get the brakes figured out soon.

Iphone and we turned the auto-shutoff feature off.  It appears to be working perfectly now.  I guess I just had to ask to fix it!

I found them a repair place on their route, but they stopped at a KOA and found they had hooked up wrong.  Brakes and lights restored. Tracking program working.  Life is good.

That’s close to what happened.   I’m sure many have viewed Bill’s rig but if one looks close he’s modified just about everything on it.   I had never seen multiple trailer connectors/plug ins.    Bill’s has two.   I picked the wrong one but we figured it out.

But the fun one when someone moved the emergency brake away cable from where I connected it to a tie down on the side of the truck bed.   After the first hard right hand turn, things got kind of interesting.   The plug pulled out and you can imagine what happed then.

But, have all going the right direction now.   Have been callling my convoy buds frequently.   Even though they were very willing to keep going, I could hear the fatigue in their voices.   Pulled in at Big Spring, TX.   There is no reason to push this.   We have the time.

Keep an eye on Ron’s speed. I saw where he has inched up to 72 mph and his fellow travelers are possibly cracking the whip on him! I cautioned him about letting that big Ford Powerstroke getting away from him cooldude

In his defense, the speed limit on I-20 out in West Texas is 80, and it's quite common to be doing 90+ and getting passed by an RV...

Is someone keeping an eye on the Rams character.  It looks as if he's headed to Juarez.  That rig would probably sell easily in Mexico.   Huh?

Grin I’ve been negotiating with them guys since my granddad got me cowboy boots and a belt when I was 5. Although, I’ve never sold them anything. Out of hundreds of cross border transactions, never have gotten a refund.  Smiley Isn’t it ironic though, a Dodge guy trying to become a Ford guy ? transmobile ? Thank you, Ron. An update:  We had planned to make some real headway today.   Of course, everything didn't go as planned.   We "almost" got started when we planned.   Only about an hour off.   That's OK, I'm in no hurry.

Stopped to meet up with F6Banger and Scain, that was a real pleasure and I can't say how much the Ferguson's (and I) appreciated it.   Headed back on the road again headed west, about 1800 or so, Connie called and advised me of some high winds warnings ahead of us.

Kind of a big deal in Bill's RV.   Winds predicted to 50 mph and gusting.   I let the Fergusons know and we made the decision to find a hotel.   Glad we did, by the time we got to that hotel, the winds had flags standing straight out and the RV was getting buffeted pretty well.

Thanks Connie for looking out for us and calling.   This is truly a team effort.

Glad to help.  When I heard 50 mph winds and 1 mile visibility (dust) on I-10, I thought a call was in order.  Fortunately, it's supposed to clear up before morning.

good thing you stopped since 50 MPG winds are dangerous, although if blowing the right way from behind you,  50 MPG winds is a good thing for gas mileage..... 2funny

I drove my 7x23 ft. enclosed trailer 6 inches taller than standard bumper mount hitch with 1/2 ton truck around 35 mph ONLY ONCE and that ONCE was enough for me shimmering my steering wheel pretty bad side to side sorta hard to stay in my lane of traffic.    BF's fifth wheel with 1 ton ford dually am sure is more sturdy but that huge tall long trailer takes it toll am sure with winds gusting.

When BF stopped by my house in October last year I was blown away how he with fifth wheel turned it around on a dime up my street in a wider than normal road is all was totally shocking he could do that vs. in my 7x23' enclosed bumper hitch 1/2 ton truck same area I have to pull forward, back up the trailer onto side street, to turn around coming back down my street to park in front of my house on the road.    I was worried the front of his truck would go into the neighbors driveway and the back end of the trailer would cover up my mailbox to deliver the mail but it barely fit.  He did this all in the dark like he knew exactly where to go blindfolded he was that good of an expert in all he did whether fixing cycles or trailering.

I-10 winds are typically crosswinds.
