Today, I received two unusual packets (one for each of my rides) from my insurance agency, Foremost. In each package, was advanced “DNA forensic protection” for my motorcycles. “What the heck is this?” I thought.
Inside the foam protected kits, were tiny vials of DNA+ liquid.  Apparently, these clear liquids contain coded micro dots, registered exclusively to me. The liquid is supposedly harmless and impossible to remove, once applied. I am to apply this coded liquid to various areas on my two motorcycles. Then, apply the warning stickers accompanying the kit. They state, “Stop thief. Protected with DNA+.
The scheme offered to me (gratis) is, If my bike gets stolen, despite the decaled warnings, the police can swiftly identify the bike as MINE, when U.V. Lighting reveals my unique DNA via an international database!
Well, I found the idea unique. I also found it somewhat humorous, as I wondered what law enforcement would say, when I demanded they check all similar  valks for traces of my DNA. (They surely would wonder what kind of fun I’d been having with the fat girl!)
So, just wondering. Anyone else receiving DNA kits for their bikes? And, would you use the stuff, if you did? Let me know.

Wow.

Checked to make sure it wasn't April 1st!  I guess go ahead and spew the DNA on your fat lady.  In an inconspicuous area, I wouldn't trust it to be invisible on a nice paint job.  UV lights are easy to come by, let us know what shows up.

Well, I'll be dipped in dawgsh!t (had to look)!

What they come up with next?  Huh?

something similar to what some rip off car stealerships I know are doing by applying decals coded to specific parts of the cars on their lots so they can upcharge that cost to the buyer when selling it to them.  Once applied, cannot take off and supposedly deters thieves from parting out the car parts once stolen.  I asked one dealership to remove it for not paying for it and they said unable to must pay it.  I walked on that deal.   I do not live in a high crime area and not like anyone would steal any of my vehicles except maybe my truck.

I got my kit 1 for each bike, I have 2 so I got 2 kits and they are free. It came with my policy renewal. If you check the DNA website the kits are expensive to purchase.
