This evening I got the Valkyrie, the stripped down yellow cruiser, out for a trip to the church.  I've had it out a few times recently but this may be the first time we went more than a mile or two on the flyway.

I was running late.  I'm often amazed at how quickly she will jump at three thousand RPM in top gear.  Actually she moves so smoothly I sometimes have to remind myself to shift into fifth gear.  Moving through traffic there were multiple opportunities to switch lanes and pass .  I violated the PRV on a regular basis.  I made a twenty minute trip in fifteen minutes but no innocent animals were harmed during this performance.

On the way home the temp had dropped to sixty degrees.  I had worn a short sleeved tee shirt and the mesh jacket.  It was probably not the best choice.  It was a brisk but still very enjoyable ride.

I've owned six Valkyries and ridden many others.  This one is the quickest non-supercharged Valkyrie I've been astride.

It's fun to get out and ride.  It's good to get away with what really shouldn't be done.  Warmer weather is coming up.  I'm more than ready to experience that warmer weather.

Sounds good Carl. The temps here in NE Indiana got up to the 60s on sunday. I was able to get a ride in although a rather short one of only about 20 miles. I wasn't on my bike I was on a Interstate I just finished working on for JR Smith out of Terre Haute that I did a desmog and overhauled the carbs. Bike ran great even up to 100 mph. Felt good to get back in the wind.

Maybe some wind therapy for this afternoon, since it is supposed to make it to the low 70's today.

My accident from November is still bothering my lower left back - starting PT March 10.

I'm jealous, temps still in the low 40's mostly, only md  30's today. All a bit too cool for these old bones. End of the week is supposed to hit 55, believe it when I see it. I couldn't go out anyway since neither the trike or bike are running at the moment. I try to order parts in chronological order so those needed first come in first. So today I find out the parts needed NOW aren't due until Saturday. So much for my ordering in sequence of need. So you guys just go and enjoy your rides, just don't drive by my place cuz I'm liable to throw a snowball at you.  Grin

'sposed to make it up to the mid 60's and sunny here today.... I might dig out my extreme cold weather riding gear and brave a ride across town to the grocery store, but that's kinda iffy at these temps, don't wanna risk hypothermia!

Spousal unit had some 'scripts ready for pickup at CostCo, which is a 10 or so mile jaunt down the freeway (Or flyway as Willow says, I'd honestly never heard it called that before, took me a bit to figure out what he meant.)

Right in the middle of rush hour, in the heavy direction.

Something about riding aggressively through freeway traffic just wakes me up. I know most folks hate it, and I do too if I HAVE to get through it, but sometimes, there's a certain joy in attacking the traffic.

So I bundled up (It was 73 when I left, so I didn't need to break out the Hot Hands or anything at least, just the leather jacket and gloves.) and headed out on my quest.

Was good to get some wind, needed that lately...

This morning the spouse arrived home and we were to head out for brunch.  She said to me, "It's a little chilly out."  I didn't don a jacket and when we got into the cage I checked the temp.  It showed 50 degrees.  I decided that my Lori Beth must be related to Serk and other occupants of the state of my birth.

Nice day out today.  I'm ready for the cold stuff to be behind us.
