Well I ordered a set from Amazon. Prior to That I called wally wurld. They do NOT reveal their menu until you hear a c19 spiel and other platitudes bout how much my business is preciated! o k I guess! Then I decided to call H/F and the one I chose-Rolla Mo-got a gal I had an impossible time convincing her jis is NOT a brand but a style. Lets just say I no longer wanna follow That avenue. The jis from wally wurld available on line only and will take longer than Amazon. You'd think that either store would have Someone Qualified to actually discuss tools! Both times I heard the key board in the backround. But I digress Again! Maybe I am gittin too old and set in my ways! And B T W-my Amazon order will be here Saturday the 6th of March. Here's a scary thought-these young uns be picking our nursing homes!! Could you imagine tryin to splain points and a rotor to these younglings? Yeah-me neither. RIDE SAFE.

That's how it starts.....
You try local first, give up, then order on Amazon.
Over time, sadly, you give up on local places and just go straight to Amazon.
They have it, their price will be decent, and they can get it to you scary fast.
Ruthless, but brilliant business model.

It’s not just young people. I’m sure there are plenty right here who do not realize there are different “Phillips”. Personally, I wish EVERYBODY would switch over to a world wide Torx (or similar) style.

Awww....pair of pliers, screwdriver, roll of duct tape(& maybe a condom)! If you can't fix it...that's what the condom is for. Just remember; wrinkles in your duct tape is a sign of poor workmanship!

with the new standard all are the same except for one as noted in link. I have harbor freight screw drivers made to the new std they work great on my cycles. https://rtstools.com/jis-vs-phillips-screwdrivers-and-where-to-buy-a-jis-screwdriver/There are the real JIS and the not-so-real JIS screwdrivers. Remember, JIS is a standard, so a screwdriver needs to be made to that exact standard to be considered authentically JIS. Most JIS advertised screwdrivers sold today by companies like Vessel, Hozan, and others are actually conforming to a new standard: DIN 5260 which is identical (at the tip) to the newer ISO 8764-1.But wait, DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. (German Institute for Standardization), and ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. Neither sound very Japanese, do they? The reason these companies have changed to DIN 5260/ISO 8764-1 is because the new standard is designed to work in both Phillips and JIS screws. For the most part that is true, it does work on both screw types, but like anything meant to work with multiple things, the middle ground means compromise. The JIS standard screwdriver will always outperform a DIN/ISO screw driver in the worst of conditions on a JIS screw, and the same is true in reverse. As you can see, the JIS and ISO standards are very close, but not exactly the same: If you only need one set of screw drivers, or are an infrequent user, the new DIN/ISO standard screw drivers will likely work for you, but if using the right tool for the job is important to you or if you frequently work with Japanese or JIS screws, consider investing in proper JIS screw drivers that are built to JIS B 4633. To date, I have only been able to find one confirmed manufacturer that still uses and builds to JIS B 4633, and that is SUNFLAG otherwise known as New Turtle in Japan:

Just get a cheap screw driver with a tray of different bits. One or more of them will be right.

Do you have one of those cheap screw drivers with a little tray of 14 different "phillips" looking bits? They're not all #2 phillips. You'll find that one of the bits that is PERFECT. If it's the master cylinders one is concerned about, they should have hex screws anyway. They look better in that application and they're easier to remove and replace.

Absolutely ... Here's my lefty-loosy-righty-tighty (see the little switch?) screwdriver that I've had since the dawn of time. I never used it, and would never use it, except that when I got my Valkyrie I found that it had a perfect bit (JIS I'm sure) in its tray for all my little "phillips" Valkyrie screws. You can see (sorry for the fuzzy picture) that all the bits in the tray are kind of rusty and unused looking, but the one in the handle is well used. When you get a cheapo screwdriver with a tray of whacky bits, one-or-some of them is going to be JIS. Especially (but probably anyhow) if your cheapo screwdriver is old enough to have come from Japan. -Mike "my Valkyrie screwdriver"

Having Snap On SAE ergo set for 25 yrs., I bought a pair Vessel brand JIS phillips. I use these on all phillips head be it SAE or JIS. Magnetic tips to boot. Just grip better IMO. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61kG4UniRzL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

...and better handle than Snap-on. Not to mention the knurling just below the handle is what makes this the best "phillips" screw driver ever on JIS or SAE.

I also have Vessel. I put it in a drawer other than the one with the 87 non-JIS screwdrivers. So I can't find it. Though I'm a little better organized than this.

Many of the bit sets in Home Depot come with this. They are cheap, available, can use a ratchet and extension and work well.

most important statement right there and goes along with my post/link Thanks "In chapter 3.2. I explained how JIS was discontinued as a standard in 2008, so now there is only ISO 8764. In other words: almost no manufacturers today make and sell screwdrivers noted as “JIS”, only “Phillips, ISO 8764-1, 2”. Some might (also) mention “DIN 5260-PH”, but no “JIS”."

I also have Vessel. I can't over emphasize the advantage of the aggressive knurling below the handle of the Vessel. It's like an overdrive between finger & thumb when inserting or removing screws.

O K the set I purchased from Amazon came from A B Tools set#LSR58. All 4 are JIS and the lenghts are 150MM long with a PH3 100MM long with a PH2 75MM long with a PH1 and a 38MM with a PH2. Used em today and the Are Magnetized nicely. Just missed $36.00 but they seem right from the git go to work better on the screws on Phatt Ghurl. That's My story and I are stickin to it! RIDE SAFE.
