Well it was a tough choice went in wanting either an RT or a B. Both great bikes but the test ride made the decision. 2021 K1600B Kalamata is now in the garage. I believe had it been just a solo bike the RT would have been fine. However we travel 2up a lot and the B just felt better to us...

may I ask why not consider an F6B?   Put a passenger backrest on that thing or the misses will be flying off the back... Grin

A lot of good used F6B's out there for a decent price.

I'm now riding an F6B, but I will say that if BMW had a better dealer network I would have made the same choice as AwesomeDad. Congrats on a great bike.

Same here. When I bought my new Wing, the 1600 was seriously considered but the dealer network, parts/maintenance cost scared me away. Closest dealer is 3 hours away.

Congrats on the bike. I bet it’s a blast to ride.  cooldude

I’ve wanted a beemer since 1994 but could never justify the price and went with a more sensible choice over the years. The Valkyrie was probably my favorite and the only bike I’ve bought twice. But I found myself bike less the first time in a long time. Recent events has shown me I’m not getting any younger and I figured why not get it while I can still enjoy it. It won’t be my last bike I plan on getting a wing when I’m old enough. As for dealer network I have 2 relatively close and my understanding is warranty covers a tow regardless. And yes the backrest is on order....

I was recently seriously tempted into buying one.

The dealer was offering me a great price on a leftover model.

The deciding factor was that they wouldn't consider taking a trade.

I literally have no where to put another bike.

It turned out for the best.

I wound up buying a new Honda.

A 2021 CRV but it's still a Honda.

That's a fine machine.  May I ask.... How tall are you?  We all know there are short guy bikes and tall guy bikes.  How would you describe your new bike?
I’m about as average as they come 5’10” 30” inseam and Trex arms. I can flat foot the bike and the reach to the bars and floorboards do not put me in a taco shape like my ultra classic did. I will put risers on it just to get me perfectly up right with a backrest...

Thanks.  Until you try the bike on for size, all homework is guesswork.
The good thing about BMW dealers they are generous with test rides...
