One more turn should do it!

Kent, Ohio

« on: March 07, 2021, 04:44:48 AM »

We on here are spread across this beautiful country of ours. I have a question for you.

The MSB front man, Michael Stanley Gee. Passed away Friday March 5th @ the age of 72. His music was well known here in the midwest. He was born, raised and lived here in NE Ohio. His music was the soundtrack to my youth. All that being said. Are any of you outside the "midwest" familiar with him? He had some great songs and albums during the late '70's through the early '80's. He seemed to never find nationwide success like Seger, Springsteen and Mellencamp. Same type of musician/songwriter for the time. Not important I know. Wondering just how many of you enjoyed his music, bought his "stuff"?

Just another instance of realizing time is passing. Life is made of pieces and it feels like my wife and I lost a piece on Friday. His music is still around and it still takes me to an exact time and place in my life.

I don't recognize the name, I might recognize his music if I heard it.   One thing you are correct about is time passing.   The older I get, the faster that clock seems to run.   It is, what it is.   If I go tomorrow, I can't gripe about it.  It's been a good run.

Thanks for responding!

I always remember my Mom saying, "the older you get the faster time goes". I now know exactly what she meant! I first noticed it after the birth of our children.

Mike -- hubcapsc -- does some cartooning and did one about time that I really liked.  A guy and his wristwatch.  Maybe he'll see this and post it up.

Thanks Rams.  I forget that sometimes.  And yes, it has been a GOOD run.  I don' think I would change much, maybe a little more time on two wheels but I was working then.  Now......   we go.

whew ! I thought you were going to give us some bad news about our friend in British Columbia.

It’s sad losing pieces of our lives. Seems like it’s happening every time I turn around anymore.
