I have six inch pullback risers, 1500 Valkyrie bars, two sets of Memphis Shades Hell Cat mounting brackets and a cut-down OEM windscreen. Check out the logo stamped on the OEM shield (I just noticed this yesterday) - the OEM shield was made by National Cycle! Pros: awesomely comfortable. Very stable. Cons: Hard to mount, too many degrees of freedom with two sets of brackets. The whole setup, bars and all, was a lot of trouble.

Yeah but now that it's all done, you have one sweet looking comfortable set up What size shield is pictured?

I also have the original tall Honda and I titled it back about an inch, with the little plastic shields on the side pods. It works great for me.

That bike is gorgeous. Great minds think alike, we were in Clayton, Clarksville, Tiger last summer looking for property and took the same photo.

Just installed the OEM tall windshield using Home Depot U bolt parts to push bottom of screen out about 1 1/2". Works really well as I was used to looking through the screen on a Heritage. Many thanks to the gentleman that posted the u bolt idea. Why Honda did not design the mounts to have the screen angle to match the fork angle is beyond me.

I don't know the manufacturer of my ugly windshield but I like it. Is that the OEM mounting hardware? I would be interested in the manufacturer if you can find out.

I did this to the top support of the windshield and was able to move the bottom out a bit also. Factory windshield and mounting

Great photo Robert That's a money shot for sure, if the F6C-1800 is a contender for the calendar you should submit. I have tried three shields and settled on the Honda OEM for the rock solid mounting. I modified mine quite a bit. Keeping just the nice mounting brakets, then having a custom shield made for it (shorter) and dark tint. Then modified my lower mounts to change the angle. Then re-drilled the holes in the shield 2" higher on the shield to lower it more and close that ugly gap at the bottom. Perfect, R&D is complete, now I ordered yet another shield factory drilled as I had done, black out bottom half to hide the brackets and lighter tint on upper half of shield. Shield pictured is my R&D shield, before lowering.

Nice to know there are others with the same thoughts so I dont have to worry about OCD. I also found the mounting of the shields kind of flimsy for many of the aftermarket mounts. I was also going to do the same thing you did and figured the OEM brackets were a good starting point and could use them to build on. But the height of the OEM is good for me, but would like the rake to be a bit more. None of that seems to bother me enough to want to do something about it. Ill just admire yours and one day it may bug me enough to want to do something about mine. LOL
