has a good sense of humor. It’s one of the many things I like about her. I was out installing some flooring and trim in the motorhome when she came back from watching her Dad. Her being of Supervisor material, she comes over to inspect. She gives her approval and turns to go in the house. I had been putting off installing the seat pedestals till I got my grandson over to help. I ask her if she wants to help me, and her believing that she is qualified in restoration says yes. I handed her a ratchet and socket and explained that she needed to hold it while I crawled under and tightened down the nuts. I show her which we will start with and work our way around. After crawling under and successfully tightening them, I told her we would do the drivers pedestal next. I had to crawl out and under the other side. When I get in position I tell her we are going to start with the back inboard one. After a few ratchets of no resistance she yells out that I’m turning the wrong one. After some back and forth it’s determined she is on the front inboard bolt. After inquiring how she determined that was the back one, she tells me “I turned around when I moved to the drivers seat”.  Smiley I guess in her mind back was behind her now ?
I’ve been getting a lot of mileage out of the teasing. Port and Starboard lessons didn’t go so well.

Rob,

Please inform Brenda that I'm on her side... Matrimonial rule #1: The wife is always right!!! In my case, as I'm sure it often is in yours as well, my now landlady has been annoyingly right far too often. Downright embarrassing, and more than a little humbling when that has happened, but... Life goes on.

I watched in awe as a first cousin of mine gave those of us shocked onlookers present that fateful day the key to marital bliss... His wife had stepped out onto the patio, where we were draining longnecks and generally allowing testosterone to run rampant one fine Saturday afternoon... and she commenced to scolding him thoroughly. We were all quite surprised, even a little embarrassed for him...

He just sat there calmly, stoically saying nothing at first, allowing her to vent her spleen... Then, with complete control of his senses and passion, he empathetically responded, "Yes dear. I can't believe I was so stupid. I am sorry..." She returned back into the house apparently satisfied; then, he looked at us, and with a sheepish grin on his face and a knowing look in his eyes he informed us: "It's so easy!"

Just be glad she helps you and wants to, that comes in handy a lot of times needing 2 people to accomplish what one can do but will struggle due to size or other constrictions.    Wife changed a headlight bulb on my kid's vibe for the battery area would NOT allow me to squeeze my hands in there but the wife did it for me smaller hands/wrists.    I wish she was around on the kids Vibe when I wasted 3 hours for a 30 minute job attempting to shoehorn my wider shouldered body in between the passenger seat and glovebox area to replace the actuator that opens/closes the vent behind the glovebox way way way in back.  My body does not twist as well as it should be.  My kid came home with wife after 3 hours and he got right up in there but by then I had 1 of the 2 stubborn screws partially in tight so good enough but am sure he could have done it in less than 1 hour since his body fit easily between seat and glovebox laying sideways twisted on the floor.

For me: Two wives and four daughters later.....yup, he nailed it. He's smart enough to know the woman always has the last word. Anything said after that is just the start of another "discussion."

PS: Even the various dogs we had were female with one exception. He was the runt and died under a full moon three days after being born. Gave me pause!  Wink

Sounds like she needs a lesson on stern and bow.

Meathead, I went through quite a bit of formal relationship type training and one of the best things I took out of that whole experience was to ask myself a question whenever something with my woman comes up, the question is, "what's it worth for me to be right, what price am I willing to pay?"

Believe me, it's helped make my life much easier, if something comes up and I need to dig my heels in I know exactly what the battlefield looks like.. And it's a Scary Place   Evil

We have many differences I see. I’ve never had any kind of therapy or training. Being right 99.7% of the time has many advantages. Marrying a totally subservient wife also has its advantages.  Smiley

I hope everyone didn’t take too much from my dumb little story. The real point I was trying to get across is how I love that Brenda has a great sense of humor and is not afraid to laugh at herself on occasion. (Plus, it just took me as funny how turning around could change the front and back of the motorhome)
Yeah, I think you may be the evil Captain Kirk from an alternate universe  Grin

I'm very lucky that my girl is one that can laugh at both me and herself, if a couple stops laughing together that's a bad bad sign. She's also the first woman I've ever been involved with for any length of time that could actually apologize for.. Anything.. Sometimes she gets mad at me because I don't accept her apology fast enough, it's not that I don't accept her apology it's just that I'm not done being annoyed, I can't turn my emotions on a dime like she seems to be able to do.

Overall it sounds like you guys have a great marriage, so congratulations  cooldude

"I ask her if she wants to help me" and at that point, the laughter would have started from Margaret.   Brenda is a good egg.  I'm proud she wants to help with mechanical stuff.
