However, other modes of transportation are fine.  This was taken a few minutes ago by the traffic camera on US-40 near Winter Park.

Whereas it's upper 60's and I just grabbed this photo off one of my outside security cameras to get an idea of our weather here right now.... But alas, I'm primary oncall for work, and am tethered to the house by the leash of contractual SLAs.....

Are wooden fences around back yards out of the ordinary? Guess we just kinda like our privacy...

I was just wondering around me not many at all have fences around our yards (or backyards).  Might be a regional or area thing?      About the only fences I see in WI are very tall sound deadening ones from a beltline or high traffic interstate type roads.

Interesting the things we learn unexpectedly, I always assumed everywhere the norm was fenced in back yards, has been in every house I've lived in...

If you're bored, you can drive around the alleys in my neighborhood to see, fenced in is the norm by far...

And security (esp with kids and dogs, who tend to wander off).

Woke up to blowing snow drifting snow.   This is after several days of 60 degree temps, now upper 20's and wind chills down to 10 or so.  Normally in here in southern OR the snows just fall straight down and don't move.   Thought for a second we were back in WY when we got up.

AND we have fences in our town, and most of the towns I lived in the past 50 plus years.  Most of the fences are wooden type.  In  WY where I spent some 22 years, the wood fences help to slow down the snow so it would drift so much.   2funny 2funny

Gunni lucked out on this last storm, but I've still got about 8" of hard packed glacial ice around my shed and ramp.  It's been a milder winter than usual, but the big melt is still a ways off.  Pending more spring storms.  March is typically our snowiest month.

That big melt should occur just in time for you to saddle up and head south to Hattiesburg, MS.   Warm winds and the sun await you.  Wink
