Interesting video...Surprising results, accept for the Chinese bikes I expected that. They are disposable.

if you buy a Japanese bike you keep it for life, like Herpes... Grin

Honda, Kawi, Yamaha all 3 right up there, with Suzuki bringing up the rear when it comes to Japanese bikes.   Overall,  I'd pick Honda and Yamaha overall over Kawi and Suzuki but that is my opinion only, there are some good models of Kawi and Suzuki to pick from though as well.

I wonder where Kymco, Taiwanese based,  is at since they use to make long ago small motors for Honda? It's gotta be better than HD right?   Roll Eyes

I'm wondering what things look like at oil change 2? The filter must have caught a bunch of stuff? First oil change got a bunch of stuff out I would assume?

I was told back in the 80's as a young man that any engine you buy new, you need to do an oil change fast on the engine. Reason is manufacturing crap is in there. Run it for a short period and dump the oil to get out whatever shouldn't be in there. I was also told don't run anything at full speed until you change the oil. Reason being there may be some manufacturing left overs in there that will wear the internals quickly.

This test is kind of confirming what I was told years ago.

I think the first oil change is very relevant to manufacturing quality.

However, after that first change, with all things running perfectly, I'm not sure how relevant it is to actual longevity.  How many other bikes out there are capable of going 500K with no engine work of any kind?

My first (and last) Harley (a good Evo FXR) needed a top end refresh (badly) at about 65K miles.
