Sounds like you've got water in the electrical system. I would start by removing the fuses and relays and drying them out.

need advice how about by passing the starter button so the running lights do not go dim when you push the button it only blows fuse when i hit the button i went over everything. starter relay good no burnt marks new.. starter button.. new bought it new a couple of months ago been working fine i just took it apart check it, ok, just put some new electric lube on the connection .. i put dual relay on headlight to protect my new switch they been on since the switch was new. headlight works ok if relay was bad it would blow my headlight not my running lights. how about my ICM could this be shorting out. what other relay, not the turning signal lights they work ok and do not blow as well as my brakelight. fan everything checks. not sure if washing the bike did it i don' t drive much at night it could of been out a while. man i blew a fan on it last night then a hair dryer for a while no water on anything still what got me is the fuse don't blow,, everything works great so how do i check for a short when it doesn't show bad, no fuses blow under normal condition, just when i hit the button it blows this i know is hard to answer wonder if mark T or somebody that does electrical work reads this

The starter switch is supposed to cut power to the lights while connecting power to the starter relay. If it is only dimming the lights it isn't working properly. The lights would dimm anyway due to the draw of the starter.

Yeah, I concur. You got a short that needs finding. Good analysis will help out lots. Review the last things you have done to help see if that could be the cause of your problem. Don't jump to conclusions that can exacerbate your problem.

i will agree something not right. but i have not done anything. just noticed it after i washed the bike. i guess something got wet.. i washed the bike without the seat on. what i am trying to figure out, it only blows when the current is interrupted (push the button). turning the key off & on, that is not it. operating the turning signals, that is not it. brake light, that is not it. they have there own fuse, but it interrupts or ads power to the current, ok!! starter button new late last year, this works the headlight fine, with that in mind the the switch is still good.
now what to check, the wires that run from the switch to the fuse panel no way to check all the wiring. at the ends or where connections are. now it is getting harder . the fuse operates under normal condition just fine. so how do i check something that is working right at the time of checking. that tells me no breaks in the wiring. no bare wires.
PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. WHERE IS THE SHORT WHEN THE FUSE WORKS OK
time to check starter switch

you could have pinched the wires in the switch housing when you reassembled it
