Taking a chance! I rode my front tire last year beyond what I normally do as I didn’t want to get a tire put on at the end of riding season. So I called last week down to Honda to order a new tire and was told it will be back ordered until late May early June… Not good ! Covid has got a lot of things messed up. Honda looked across the country at others inventory to find that there was a tire available in Vancouver. I gave them a call, only to be told that the tire wasn’t available as they had received that tire from another shop that had closed up back in 2015. The guy I was talking to decided to take a look just in case and low and behold he had it. He found it in their 80% off bin. So, all in delivered from Vancouver to Calgary, I got the tire for 135 bucks . It just arrived today, the manufacturing date is the 47th week of 2014 . If nothing else, it will buy me time to order a fresh tire that will show up sometime in May or June.

Terry,
Good luck to ya, ol' buddy! Hope you can make do for awhile, but by all means do go ahead and order a new one too! I know you probably haven't and most likely won't consider this; but, you could always get a black wall tire... strictly as a temporary measure, of course... Looking forward to having another 'garage session' with you and all my buds in Calgary!!! Sure hope that is this year, too...

Was thinking the same thing. But, I'm not judging, just surprised. Rams

Guess I could have gone this route. Welcome to Canada! There’s a big difference buying here vs the States or even from province to province. The tire came from British Columbia where prices are commonly higher than here in Alberta. The tire is about 300$ here if I remember correctly from when I first bought them. From what I’m told, it’s not a very popular size meaning more $’s.

I know this might sound "crazy", but you don't have to use OEM tires, just something in the right size....
My 1998 Valk has been riding on Metzler ME880's front and rear - I just replaced the rear with a Shinko for 40% of the price of the Metzler. It also will probably not go as many miles.

shinko SE890 Journey rear should get you 9-10K miles, give or take IMO was about the same as my Avon Cobra longevity wise.

Yeah both front and rear tire but I have now in the white wall or not the correct size for the bike. Close but not exact. The front is a Dunlop 404 in the rear is a Dunlop Americana. The rear is wearing like steel it is three years old and still probably has another year at least on it. I use the front brake 90% of the time hence the tire wears faster than the back and needed to be changed.
