Ok, I have oil on the bottom of the left side tail pipe. Has anyone had the same issue before? I looked at it last night and couldn't find where the oil was coming from. Any help would be much appreciated.

Valkyries don't generally leak oil. Except from the shifter. Check there... https://lifeisaroad.com/valkshiftseal.html-Mike

Is there oil on the bottom of the engine? If so, clean it well, and watch for more.
Perhaps you have too much oil in it, and it is being passed out a cylinder. When you check the oil level, is the bike balanced upright? Try checking the spark plugs on that side for signs of oil on them.

Alright I have discovered I have oil coming out of the weep hole at the bottom of the muffler on the left side exhaust. I am being told it is a valve guide leaking when the bike is off. How hard is it to fix? My friends are telling me to go ahead and ride the bike and just make sure and check the oil. Will it do any damage to the bike if I keep riding it? Should I try and fix it myself or take it to someone? From what I have read on here it's better to fix myself. I'm just not sure if I can, and I don't want to mess something else up in the process. What do you guys think?

There's plenty of people who are good at working on engines and who take pride in their work. The problem is finding them. Dropping your bike off at a random Honda shop to have junior open up your engine is iffy... If I changed out my own valve whatchamacallit, I'm pretty sure I'd have to get a new motorcycle... -Mike

If the bike has sat unused for an extended period, I'd be more inclined to look at valve seals rather than valve guides. There are untold numbers of these motors with hundreds of thousands of miles with narry a guide replaced. Some have needed valve seals but only after tons of miles or lack of use which will cause them to harden. Take a look at your choice of oil and possibly a change of either brand or weight might make a difference.

I just bought the bike back in January it had been set up for a while(not sure how long) the carbs were all gaunt up. I rebuild the carbs and finally got it running. Went on my first ride on Sunday 275 miles, the bike ran great. Rode it to work on Monday and that is when I noticed oil on the kick stand. Got to looking and found oil all along the bottom of the tail pipe. On further inspection I found it leaking out of weep hole. Now it isn't leaking alot, but I really don't want it to leak at all. From what I'm getting told by most people is to ride it and keep an eye on the oil level. Now that is has started leaking do you think it will ever stop? It would be the first time anything has stopped leaking (that I have heard of) after it started, but maybe.

I'd ride it twofeather, at least for the summer. Never can tell, stranger things have happened than for an oil seepage to stop,, especially after setting up. Are you sure the level is correct?

Agreed. Only time will tell if the seals quit leaking. In the mean time, you can put out some feelers about who can do it, for what price. I think it will quit leaking. (Might take a while for all the oil to burn off)

You sure it’s oil and not exhaust sludge. Water vapor and exhaust carbon can mix up and look like oil. If it’s coming out of your exhaust weep hole, that would be my bet. The left side is the lower side causing it to show more at the weep hole.

Steel Cowboy, I'm pretty sure it is oil cause there is a fare amount. I was about a half a quart low on the dip stick. The bike has been sitting up for a little while so maybe the gaskets are little dry and or hard. I rode it to work this morning and looked to see if there was any coming out of weep hole, there was very little. So I am just going to keep an eye on it.

Just n FYI, the oil is checked with the bike off the side stand in a vertical position.
The dip stick is removed from the engine, dried, then dropped back in and removed for inspection.

Well....hopefully the oil seals come back into shape. The BRIGHT side?? Your mufflers won't rust as fast now!! I could go for a two stroke Valkyrie! Damn...that would be a thrill.... Is this something like the O-rings on the carb block? Just needs to be continually used....to work without leaking? But seal up again a while later? Kenny Roberts on a 750 two stroke.......imagine 1500 cc's!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k8hJWKIVNs
