You going west again? Where do you stay? We usually meet up with other Valkers and should have one rolling out with us this year. We should meet up.

My bride and I will ride over a couple of times. . .  We've missed the last few years, but before that we had a nice little string together. We go more for the ride. . . and usually hit the Sunshine Mall and visit a few vendor areas. . . and maybe the racetrack (Is Honda still there?) A friend who lives in Florida recently told me the Sunshine Mall vender area isn't what it used to be? We haven't been down on Main or Beach street in a while. It's too crowded and a little wild. It's not for us (No criticism intended. To each their own.) The last year we were there the event set the record for attendance AND deaths. I don't recall the year, but it was near perfect weather the whole week. We saw the results of FIVE (5) motorcycle wrecks. The last one we went by was detoured, but before we turned, we saw a Florida Trooper was up underneath  the truck, taking pictures. The  wrecked bike was on a flatbed. It was bad. . .

Anyway, Daytona is roughly about a 115 miles from our place in Florida, but it takes 2 1/2 + hours through the back roads. It's very nice ride though and we just cruise along, enjoying the roadway. Lord willing, we'll be there this year  Cheesy

Same for me KW, we ride over (60 Miles) and spend one night. Way to crowded for anything else. I use to go for several days back in the early 90's. I like biketoberfest better, less people and prices don't go as high.

2 years ago we trailered to St. Augustine then rode for 5 days. Two of which we rode to KeyWest and back to Daytona. Had to trailer because of all the snow then.....

Fudgie,  I hope to go again this year...we go a week early, and stay at the new Holiday Inn Express in Sturgis. I will be with my riding buddies....my wife won't ride to the mailbox with me....LOL.  I will even come through Indy to see Mom and head out from there. It takes us 2.5 days to get there. If you & Kit are going to be there during that time we will hook up for a brew or 12!

I think we are leaving noon on Wed and get there noonish on Friday before the rally. We take US 20 through Iowa and take the southern route to Rapid City. If we pass we can do something. Popeye is out around your time also. We passed him in iowa this year.
