After owing my Valk fo 7 years, I traded it in and bought a 2021 Gold Wing- non-tour non-DCT (I still like shifting).  The Kelly Blue Book on my Valk was around $6100, they gave me $7,500 on the trade. I have only got 1 ride in due to the weather but so far the things I like about the new Wing are: the adjustable windshield, 6 gears, heated grips, the VERY smooth ride,  self-canceling turn signals and playing with the 4 ride modes. I have yet to check out the cruise control or the GPS.  Only quirk- when slowing down and downshifting to make a turn, the engine just shut off- like I hit the kill switch. I went on the GL1800 forum and apparently some new wings experience the engine stalling at low RPMs with the clutch pulled in during the break in period. How WIERD is that? Called the dealer, they never heard of it. The bike started right back up, but I guess the more electrical gizmos you have, the more chance there is for quirks. I will have to monitor this. I want to thank all you guys for your technical help over the years and will keep tabs on posts here and share any help I may have to offer. Be well!

The new 2018 wing was not for me. Not going to poo poo it simply it was not for me.  I am now convinced the 1800 (first or second Gen) wing and 1800 Valks can’t be beat!   For the record I did do the DCT but the ride is not what the 2016 I have now is at all.   I suppose the B deserves to be on this good list as well.

wow 7500 for a trade in makes me wonder if they even discounted the new wing off much?  It is all relative up the trade in but not give you as much off new msrp on a new vehicle/cycle or vice versa.

weird how electrical gremlins can shut off an engine.  yah,  keep an eye on it I would think will not go away once broken in.

Engine shutting down is a potential safety hazard. I would get that check out right away. Not safe in traffic if you need to move and can not.

The only thing I could ever see me trading mine for would be an F6B or maybe the DCY Goldwing, nothing else
