Figured out a while back that I'm not Superman and that falling down hurts. Thanks but, no thanks. I'll stick to cruising. Don't get me wrong, for those that wish to ride like a demon, go for it. Just not for me any longer. I remember (not long ago) following another rider as he was scooting through some twisties and I was right on his ass, staying with him every dotted line as we worked our way down the road. Then, I remembered my crash and how it almost killed me. All of a sudden, I didn't feel the need for speed. Stuff happens. Rams

Isle of Mann racing takes..... balls of steel. Mine are just flesh and blood. Not that I wouldn't mind taking a ride around the course at 80 or 90 or so in places, but not with those maniacs overtaking me at 175mph. I'd have a heart attack. You smack one of those stone walls at 175 you are very likely to meet Sweet Jesus (or the other guy).

not many am sure here could do much more than 1/2 their speeds. I for one would not be even 1/2 their speeds. To go over 100 mph for me any longer is suicide pushing 90ish range is enough for me. ONLY been over 100 mph once on a cycle and was enough for me never again being young and stupid.
surely would be cool to go see though LIVE in person. Much like the Indy 500 to go see it LIVE at least once in your life.

I know a few stretches locally where I can see for miles, literally. I'm an opportunist. I break a hunjie prolly once a week. More than once a season I'll even crack the ton two up. Gotta keep those carbs cleaned out! At least that's what I'll tell the LEO if I'm ever asked what the hell I was thinking. 100 on a Valkyrie, OK. 200 on a superbike, naa.

I've been over a hundred a number of times. What I never do, is go 100 right next to brick or stone walls and buildings. Especially in a corner. Big trees aren't that soft either. LOL Caption this picture. Nope. Imma catch that squirrel this time. Now this could be fun. (I wonder why this never caught on) (imagine trying to get plates for one down at the DMV) Grandad was deaf as a stump after this ride. Riot control was never this fun before. The lock is not big enough. All the gear all the time. US Marine combat veteran of WWII (Saipan) twice wounded, demoted from Cpl to PFC for troublemaking.

The one time though I was over 100 was on a 700cc 1980's Honda cycle and at about 110 mph the front tire started to feel light like it was lifting off the ground. Balls of steel to go over 150 on a cycle IMO. I once took a corner way way too fast on the Valk a few years ago and unable to control it on my side of the road on a rural road and went to the other side almost off the road into the ditch. that woke me up in a hurry to slow DOWN since if a car was coming at me I was toast if not running off the road.

It’s on my bucket list to travel to the Isle Of Man to see the races at least once. Ideally on a motorcycle but that would just be icing on the cake.

Attending the TT on the Isle of Man is on my bucket list also - as a spectator drinking Guinness, obviously. Frankly, it takes some stones to sit as close to the roadway as many folks do. Personally, I'd want to be behind something fairly immovable. Terry

I've heard it's quite the expensive trip, with the flight to Heathrow, and then a jump back to the Island with pricey limited hotels.
I'll just watch the Utubes.
I've been over the Atlantic 6-8 times with screaming babies and children, and it sucks largely.

Yea......I took a CBX into a corner WAY too fast once. The "Death Wobble" began to occur. But God willing, I made it through. That inline six, was not designed for "precise" cornering!! With straight pipes.....they sounded like a Indy car!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBbskqcgs_o
