I've noticed this weekend  that  links in emails, websites aren't working.   I haven't  made any changes that I know of that would affect this.
Basically, if I get a link in an email - regular mail or hotmail, etc- a new window pops up and the address is on the tab with the round symbol indicating that it is working.  However, the address window above does not show anything.  Also, if I am at a website that has a link, same thing will happen.
If I do a copy shortcut to the address window, it will then work.  In the past, no problems opening up links.

Any ideas?  Where can I check my settings?  I turned my popup blocker off to no avail.

Have you shut it down and restarted? Thats what I/S tells us to do all the time. Sometimes when mine won't open, I disconnect from the internet and then connect again a few min later and its all good. I have a Air Card from Centennial. Not sure what you have.

OH, IE8 explains it.....

Mine does that once in awhile.

What i do is Shutdown my Internet traffic, via the Firewall for about a minute and then fire it back up.    If that no workie, then I do a system restore of a couple of days earlier.    The later usually fixes it for a few days.....   The first one clears it up once in awhile......

I would say on a HOT Tuesday FIX they will get it corrected......

Hey Doc, are you a dentist? If so, can I get a free phone consult?

I had a simular issue with XP and IE6 or 7.
I don't remember for sure how I solved it but,
1st. Make sure you scan for viruses and pests.
2nd. Find the latest service pack for your OS, apply that again, reboot.
If it still isn't fixed, download IE8, uninstall IE8 and install it again.

1) If you're using a modem, unplug it from the wall for 60 seconds, plug it back in and try again.....
2)  And/or, unplug the power cord from the back of the 'puter, wait 60 seconds, plug it back in and try again....

Not sure why or how this works but whenever I call Comcast or Dell with ANY problem they usually tell me to follow those steps and it often works to solve the problem.....not sure it will help you but it's a simple and quick test....

Good Luck !

You could also fire Mr. Gates and download FireFox.  Better Browser, fewer updates, free and no holes that I have found.  Just my $.02 worth.  Stan
