Has anyone found a source for one, or a possible different item not exactly like the original but functions the same?

Try Electrical Connections.

Sandy, I don’t think it will work, that switch is designed to be screwed into a housing. The housing is designed to accept the mounting points on the switch. For the goldwing it would be a perfect fit.

John, a switch is a switch.

Find what you want/like, make it work. It's a switch, there are many kinds. Toggle, rocker, push, illuminated, SPST/DPDT. The OEM/aftermarket one is a rocker switch, and I don't think it's illuminated. You can replace it with what ever style, size, design you like. You may have to change connectors on the wires.

I forget your other posts, do you already have the lights installed and a rocker switch in the pod?

Do you want them manually controlled, or wired with your head lights?

my button fell off years ago

I suppose anything will work but John let me know what you get.

I also need to replace my kury voltmeter as the cover fell off

Oss

Actually they all fell off at the same time when we hit some potholes (craters) passing thru chicago on the way back from the Lacrosse IZ

Yes Gordon, I can simplify it by using the first thing available. The thing here is...there's already a square hole in the pod so just any switch won't fill the bill...and I have a pretty fair grasp of electricity, especially the 12vdc kind. I have a close replica on its way from the Far East, I also have a large collection of all the various size/type connectors used on metric bikes since the 60's. The trike came with the pod lights installed and I want them manually controlled. The PO told me since the on/off switch had failed, he had it wired so they're on all the time. That I don't want, I want them to function as designed.

Can the switch not be removed and disassembled? I used to have to do this regularly for my Volvo window switch when she hit the 20+ yr mark.

OK, so you are now looking for a replacement for the switch hole. I take it that it should be a normal rocket switch, you just need to measure it and find one the same size or larger.

I was fairly sure you are very capable on the electrical and other items, after all your builds that you did, more than a lot of us would have even attempted. But I didn't understand the whole story, with your request for a replacement switch.

John if you go south on Interstate 41 around Oshkosh on the west side of the highway there’s a big rig chrome shop it was all kinds of switches and buttons lights obviously its for semi‘s but you might be able to find something that’ll work for you.

Not saying you didn't do a search but as gordonv mentioned you should be able to easily retrofit a switch w/o to much trouble.

Thanks Jack, I'll have to check it out. Looks like the one north of Orlando, you can spend a lot of time and money in those places.  Wink

Could you not get a flat piece of ABS plastic, and fill the hole. Then you could put any switch you like into that spot. Maybe even grey/white plastic.

I think I have an OEM Honda spare in Ye Olde Parts Stash. Both of my I/Ses with fog lights were set up with handlebar-mounted switches (using an Add-On 52-705 master cylinder switch block w/ modified switches) and thus the ones supplied with the light kit were never used.

I think I might have found a workable unit in Ace Hardware just today. I'll have to lengthen the hole a bit but the width is fine. It's just a simple on/off rocker with two tabs/pins, if it works then I'm good, if not I'll get back to you.

I didn't have the OEM fogs, but for my aftermarkets, I used a brake master cylinder mount switch block. 3 switches - I re-wired it to have switched and unswitched power to work hazard flashers, fogs, and leds. Then took it to a place and had a Dragon engraved on it, along with markings that remind me which switch does what.  Grin

Did the same (think I may have indicated this earlier in thread). The switches used in the switch block are of a type that can be obtained from Digi-Key; once upon a time I'd posted part numbers for them. I swapped one of the OEM switches for a SPDT On-On and another for an SPDT On-Off-On; the latter switch's outer contacts are wired to the low beam wire, to a constant source of 12v and the center runs to the relay which switches power to the fog lights. This way the lights can follow the low beam (required in Ohio and other states), can be constantly "on" or be turned off altogether.

I replaced mine with one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011U1NU90/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I can find the ones that I didn't use I'll bring some to Inzane.
