With his squad at attention, my father’s drill sergeant began inspecting rifles.   Grabbing one soldier’s M-1, he peered down the barrel only to be stared back at by a spider.  “Two demerits,” yelled the sergeant, “Why two?” asked the private.  “ one for keeping an unclean weapon,” said the sergeant.  “And one for keeping an unauthorized pet.”   Kathleen Sheehy

Had a guy in my unit call in about 5 minutes before formation and say "I might be late! I'm running behind!"

Guy runs in about 5 seconds before formation and makes it on time.

1SG gave him a counseling statement for speeding.
