A while back I was reading a VRCC thread about Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). I decided to pull the trigger on one from fleabay. It ran me about $50. Was out riding the other day and noticed that the front tire pressure decreased by a few pounds. Eased her home, and when checking the front tire realized the stem was cracked. It would hold fine just sitting there, but when moved at all would leak.

I ordered two Myers 90 degree chrome valve stems. I made up a jig like Da Prez referred to in another thread, and replaced the two stems on the bike without removing the wheels.

I am really thankful I didn't have a front tire flat while riding. Hats off to the TPMS. A big shout out to the VRCC forum information on valve stems and how to change them on the bike. I will never ride with OEM valve stems again.
