Your location says to me that it rains a lot there. Spend the $$$ and get an Avon Cobra Chrome. It has excellent grip in the wet. It’s also a radial which our bikes were designed for. Your choice is a bias ply tire.

I second the Avon's. My Avon Cobras have seen 10,000 miles, mileage is great. I think they'll go 20,000 by the way they look now. I don't know, never had a bike that went over 10,000 miles on a set of tires.
I have been in heavy rain and these tires work great. I've gone through an inch of rain on the road with it pouring down, grip was there.
In case you are wondering, some of the roads near me go through swamps which have no where for you to pull over or hide. You just keep riding until you find civilization again.

Yeah, and I just bought a radial for my front, so I'll bag the 777. Thanks for catching that. I've never had issues with lacking traction except from bald tires (777s are fine in the wet on my other bike Yam Royal Star--have them on front and rear. contrary to popular belief, Seattle gets no more rain than many US cities--rain shadow from Olympic mts ). I'll check out the Avons, never ran one before, seemed overpriced and I'm cheap.

Well my 2 cents on my new Avon ! Just got it put on and immediately had a vibration issue . None with the old tire ,,, so after replacing both bearings , still vibration. Blaming it on my tire shop and his dinasour bubble balancer I take it apart again , 3rd time , and have it spin balanced. Here’s where the mechanic tell his opinion about Avon’s being problematic, mostly from leaking wound the head. Pretty disappointing to hear after I spring for the “best” tire I could buy based of all I’ve heard about them. He did balance it and allowed it needed a lot of weights ,2.25 oz, and allows it reads perfect on the machine. Reinstall & and yes , still got vibration! He also allowed before he started that such a heavy tire & wheel didn’t need balancing , huh ? Oh and the vibration couldn’t be from the other wheel, had to be something else even though no problem before the tire change out ?? I had this problem years ago when I replaced th rear with a Sinko and turned out to be a bad tire ! I’m too old for this crap !!! Any thoughts ???? Thanks !

My thought is what a horrible nightmare!! Can’t imagine anyone being young enough for such “poop”. hard not to blame the tire (not necessarily the brand) on this one

I'm stumped.
But I will tell you Avon used to have quite a bit of problems with motorcycle tire defects. I didn't know they still did (or do).
Each of my car tire rears have balanced with less weight(s) than all my previous bike tires needed.
I'm not a big believer in balancing beads, bb's, yada. But that might work for you.
I've also read that Ride-On, though a sealant against holes, also acts as a (mostly dry) tire balancer (that doesn't gum up the inside like Slime or most of the others).

I've used Ride-On in all my MC tires for the last 5 years: Shinko, Dunlop (boo), Kenda, Zeetex and Comtrac (2 DS rears). Never had a weight put on, never had a vibration issue, either the sealant quality works or I've not had a leak. Will continue to use it. No experience with beads, but why use them when you can get sealing also? Also, as long as I can find a usable size in a Shinko, that's my first choice for front tires. I've had 7 bikes in the last 5 years, now down to just 2: Honda VT1100T and my Valk. The Nomad, Classic (2), VTX1800S, and a Hondamatic are gone.
Just my NSHO.

I used Ride-On once. When I replaced the tire I was surprised at how little coverage it supplied. 2” down the center was about it. Didn’t seem worth it to me.
