Splines all good?  Dampeners tight?  Did you test the u-joint?

No ! I’m having a hard time buying into the fact this started with the tire change ? I went thru this all before on my 98 only to find out the new Sinko was a bad tire ! Wasn’t necessarily surprised that it happened on a cheaper tire , I can’t imagine that to be the case with the Avon ? Thanks

Well 3 oz. of ceramic beads should cure the situation. The problem with alloy wheels is stick on weights have a tendency to not stick if the installer doesn't clean the wheel. Been there and experienced it. Fortunately mine fell off when I was reinstalling the tire. No more weights for me. Beads only and far superior IMO.

I've had 2 Avons with QC issues.  One was a front with a wobble, which was a common issue for a while.

As for balancing, I've switched to BBs.  They cost less and don't clog up the valve.

I've ridden a few Shinkos and currently Still have one on the front. 3oz of good ol BBs and walk it up to over the ton and no shake no wobble no issues and goose it up a bit more and let loose of the handle bars. Did you follow the Correct Sequence for tightening up the rear end after the tire install? What kind of shape are your shock bushings in? Hope ya git er sorted out!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Avon QC issues here that was out of round. I just put a set of Avon Chromes on. No issues with these. I think these will be my last Avon's tho.

I may be switching from Avons too. I've had great luck with the OEM Bridgestones on my F6B, so last summer I mounted one on the back of my Interstate. It feels just as good as the Avon and costs far less. If it wears well I'll stay with the brand. It's hard to justify paying what Avon charges these days.

Thanks for the replies, guys !! BBs were the next step & I believe for the future ! However after some more research, putting the bike on my jack , w jackstands for stability, I ran it in first gear and seems quit e obvious the tire is out of round ! I should of known & done this test sooner !!! Now trying to get refund or return or whatever since I got it thru Amazon ! Thanks again Valk bros !!

I had a Shinko journey on the back of my 98 tourer a couple of years ago and I hated the vibration it gave me . It was like what you described when you started riding your bike after putting a new rear tire . For me it wasn’t a balancing thing so BBs won’t help. If it’s a tread pattern thing you’ll really only feel it on a smooth road and not leaning over but straight upright riding

I scored a set of Avon Cobra's last tire change @ Jake Wilson for a good price. I never noticed any difference between the Exedra's and the Cobras but the price. Now the Diamonds, way too much $$$.

At the this time my front Cobra has about 17,000 mi. with balance beads and I have .085 of tread left w/o any cupping. The rear Cobra, 11,500 w/o beads vs 12,500 on the previous Exedra w/o beads. I believe this will be my method of balancing from here on out.

I've had the same problem with Shinkos, the current rear tire has a flat spot when cold and both tires are wearing odd. I'll likely junk both at 10,000 miles. But I can't ride a Valkyrie more than 10,000 miles without overhauling the rear end (lube, new o-rings and thrust washer) anyway.
