Been a busy few days, as Spring has really kicked in these past weeks. Sprucing up the yard, fishing, all kinds of good stuff going on, but these past few days were all about the bikes and riding...or at least mostly so. Friday I had a good day out on the old Wing...I rode this bike most of the time throughout the Winter when weather and road conditions allowed, and I tell ya, at 43 years old she sure likes to take her time getting warmed up in the cold. With warmer temperatures now, she's a lot less temperamental and ran great all afternoon as I did all my favorite local routes.

With the Mrs out for the day on Saturday, and with a few showers and high winds, it was a good day to spend in the garage tinkering...and of course I couldn't resist putting another coat of wax on the Valk

The Mrs's old Miata has been collecting dust (in between me washing and polishing it) the past couple of years, so she decided she would sell it to let someone else enjoy it. She's had it for 10 years and did enjoy bombing around in it during the Summer months for most of that time, but just doesn't have the passion for vehicles like most if not all of us do... she's perfectly happy with her new Mazda3. Needing a new top and tires, I managed to get 8 grand for it, as the rust free and original body, 10 year old paint, and interior were all excellent.

Now there's a little more room in the garage...mmm...always wanted a nice bike lift. Or now I have lots of room for that Vstrom or similar adventure bike I'll need for the Northern BC backroads ride that my perpetually-stuck-in-winter buddy from Saskatchewan young Beardo and me are planning for next year. Or...we'll see how our retirement income shapes up as the Mrs and I both wind down our careers later this year...maybe I'll just do both

Today, Sunday was a spectacular day weather-wise, so after a bit of yardwork in the morning (it's a real big accomplishment for the Mrs to wrangle me into doing yardwork on days like this when the road or fishing lakes and streams beckon...I guess after 40 years her "gentle" persuassions are finally starting to have an affect

), we headed up one of our favorite day ride routes...the Fraser Canyon.

As we like to do many times on our day rides, especially with weather as perfect as today's was, we stopped at one of our favorite beaches close to home to relax and soak up some of that glorious sun...this time Green Point on Harrison Lake. Yessir, gotta love it when Springtime really sets in...get as much of that good old natural vitamin D as possible
