Since moving to the Lexington/Richmond area.  Things were a little different this time compared to five years ago. Everything started out the same, filling out paperwork, moving to their staging area, more health questions and the application of an IV. Very little wait until they come and take me back for the procedure. This is where everything was different for me this time.

I remember nothing after being given the sedative in my IV. In previous tests I usually am aware of what’s going on around me before leaving the procedure room. This time I recall be awakened by a nurse and it seems I remember her telling me to hang my legs off the side of the gurney and she would get my pants started. I really don’t remember how I got fully dressed. I had no idea how long I had been there or how long the procedure took. Next thing I remember was being led down some hallways, staggering most of the way and then out to the car where my wife was waiting. I was in and out for the 30 minute ride home and then crashed on the bed for another 3 hours.

Dazed and confused comes to mind. Still a worthwhile endeavor as I had 9 polyps removed. I’m supposed to be good for 7 years before another rotorooter job.

I probably wouldn’t have minded being violated, but I would like to have some memory of it!    I’m expecting good results.

I've been getting them since age 30 ( dad had his colon removed from having it full of polyps - precancerous). On my last one - (about 5 years ago) - they took the first 3 polyps ever. I'm not planning on another colonoscopy until I'm 65 (5 years from now).

Interesting, that the shortest interval I’ve heard of. Better safe than sorry.

What’s done is done. I’m sure it was all very professional.
