My 99 tourer has 14 stamped on the front brake master cylinder which should correspond to the piston bore. New replacements on ebay have 16 mm bore. This would give higher effort to stop. What gives?

Be very careful with anything you buy on ebay.  Misleading ads, just want your money.

I always use Brakecrafters kits for brake and clutch rebuilds. They have excellent kits IMHO. (I have no affiliation; I just like their products.)
