Took a little ride today with the trike and seemed like a lot of rattles taking place plus sure rides rough. When I was on the road I could reach back and press on the lid and the rattle stopped so when I got back to the hovel I looked into adjusting the latch. Decided against it, the way it is now I have to give it a good push down to get it to latch so I'm thinking maybe the gasket. The gasket appears to be hollow so wondering if a person can run something inside to give the gasket more size. I'm open to suggestions, it's kinda irritating. The fairing is solid but still has squeaks and some rattles but not sure what can be done with that. Maybe just live with it.
The rough ride seems to stem from a stiff ride. the shocks are set at the second lowest spot but didn't seem to make any difference. Maybe with more weight in back like luggage or a passenger(only temporary, thank you) would help.

You can run something thru it. I can't remember what size clear tube I put in mine, but it took the rattle out of it. Someone may chime in with the tube size. Make sure you put some lube on it while sliding it in. Try either 3/16 or 1/4 inch od tubing. Maybe some silicone spray for lube

I took a piece of foam and cut it to the size of the hinges, Taped it on, and closed the lid onto it. That seemed to eliminate most of my trunk rattles.

I replaced the hinge pins in my trunk to solve the rattling problem.

Based on someone's suggestion on here, I took a hammer and drift and struck the center of the hinge hard enough to slightly bend the pin to take the slack out and eliminate the rattle. I believe I took the hinges off to perform the procedure. This occurred many many years ago.  |

John, seems like someone, think it was Serk, used some aquarium air hose. Pushed it thru from the opening in gasket in the back side of trunk.
I have the same issue and was going to try the hose. Just haven't been to the store where they sell the hose.

I use rubber drawer/cabinet bumpers (black) placed between the two hinge halves, I also places a few around the perimeter of the trunk to keep the trunk lid from touching the bottom half.

I just went to Lowes and bought some foam weather stripping and installed it around the trunk. Nice and quiet now.

I tried 5/32" window washer hose and ran it through the inside of the gasket. Created a different problem...the lid wouldn't latch so I removed it. I have some foam so might cut a couple pieces to fit in the hinge area to see what that does for me.
