Morning all.  I have Dag's PDF version of the shop manual.  I cannot determine from the wiring diagram where the horn relay is located or even if there is a relay.  Just not clear enough on this old 'puter.  Or maybe my old eyes need stronger glasses.   Undecided  I think what I am seeing on the wiring diagram is that the horn is just switched w/o a relay.  True or false?  I have ordered a Stebel Nautilus and am wondering if I can use the existing horn wires (the ones that make it almost impossible to replace the right valve cover) to trigger the relay for the Nautilus.  Sure would like to get those out of there!!  TIA.  Stan

When I installed my stebel horn, I just used the factory horn wires to trigger a relay that I bought at advanced auto parts store. The relay was intended for use on a set of fog lights.

Stock horns, NO relay.

A buddy of mine made  bracket to fit the stock horn mount out of angle iron, cut a notch in it for the horn to mount, and put it on the stock crash bar mount.

He added the relay up by the tank and pod.     Works loud and clear.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Is there any instructions for relay hook up using the oem wires? I have a HD horn that works 1/2 the time. Maybe a relay will give it a boost. Horn seems to work well at hi speeds.

the oil pressure switch wiring also travels behind the right timing cover.  I used the OEM wire and extended it to the relay and used it as the trigger for the air horns.  The other wire is just a frame ground.
