find the date of registration of my 1800 Valkyrie?

I just called the local Honda dealer who told me they only had information about units they sold.

You could try a service like this that's supposed to track the history of a vehicle by it's VIN. Probably have to pay to get the level of detail you're after though.

Thanks, cost me $9.

I'm buying an extended warranty and the seller wants it to start the day I pay. First registration was 10/26/2018. I'd lose 6 months if I agree to that.

My BS flags are flying!!!

I have known of stories where someone bought a supposed leftover bike as new and when they went to get warranty service found out that the dealer had actually "sold" the bike to themselves in order to remove it from their Honda floor plan payments.  This started the in service clock for the warranty.

When I bought a used Goldwing.  I went (not online) to a Honda dealer to verify recalls were all up to date and verify warranty date.  Service writer printed a report that showed shipping history to the dealer, when it was sold, who the original purchaser was, all recall status, all maintenance at any Honda dealership, including mileage at time of work.

When I decided to buy an extended warranty I called one of the known low priced dealers of such.  I gave then my VIN and they told me the same information.  American Honda's records were complete and, honestly, they would never sell a Honda warranty without their own documentation of in service date.

I would check with Honda Direct Line or Blue Ridge Motorsports.  They routinely sell real Honda plans at the best price.

Paul,

Most folks on the GL1800 riders site have found that Blue Ridge has currently the best price.  Here's their link:  https://www.blueridgepowersports.com/contact-email-atvs-utvs-motorcycles-dealership--xcontact

If you call, ask for Carter Wood, ext 125
