Or the academy awards?  My wife likes to leave the TV on as she goes about her day, I can't help but hear the news shows in the background.  If I relied only on the news, here is what I should be concerned with:

Further prosecuting Derik Chauvin (the most evil human since Hitler) for kneeling on a 14 yo who didn't die.
Erecting monuments to St. George Floyd.
Who will win the academy awards.
Why people aren't crawling over one another to get the vaccine
Whatever the latest viral video is on social media
Should I have a Tic-Toc account.

After a while I just have to shut it off, and incur the wrath.

Nature and birdwatching.

Good reminders that the universe is expanding as it should and the Big Guy is still in control.

You guys are lucky. I live 1.5 miles from the Brooklyn Center police department. Circling helicopter. Hoodies doing mag dumps. 11pm-6am curfew . This is the police department that the lady cop mixed up her taser with her hand gun.

I am keeping myself busy by ordering bling for the new Wing. The internet is truly a blessing and a curse. By the time the weather gets nice enough for me to take her for a ride, it’ll weigh a hundred pounds more than stock. Did you know they make trim, for the trim?

At our place in the Rhinelander area , we have what is called a Reticulated wood pecker.  If you look it up , there is a picture of a 90 pound jack hammer.  So far , the house has not been attacked.

Another alternative would be to put on a baseball movie, thus causing your riding buddies to wait around till you show up.

TV...we don’t need no stinking TV. Actually last night was the first time in at least 2 weeks that I watched TV with my wife. I came in from the garage about 1/2 way through a movie and watched it to the end. Honestly, having the TV on all day would drive me up a wall. Come on down to the ranch.I have 25 fence posts to put in. It should take about 1/2 a month...2 per day plus ride time.

I'll have to check my schedule, Maybe I can come down a few days early for the HHR and give you a hand.  Do you have a post auger for your tractor or are you digging them by hand?  Renting an auger would be the way to go if you don't have one.

Tractor hydraulics pull up, but don't push down. There's bob-cat like things with
hydraulics that do both ways. In South Carolina red clay (not sure what the Tellico Plains area
is like) a tractor driven auger (most) often just spins without digging.

I use a "digging bar" to loosen the dirt in my post holes and remove the dirt with
clam-shell diggers. Depending on how long since it rained, each hole takes numerous
steps... loosen some dirt... remove some dirt... loosen some more... remove some more...

Here's a stock picture of a digging bar:

You can still get them at Lowes or whatever for $50. Mine is my daddy's, it is
older than I am...

On the post holes. When I as still living in Garrison Tx.-I was a Volunteer Firemen/EMS-the pager went off one Sat. mid morning and by the time the EMT showed up I had the Ambulance started and Emergency lights on. Soon as the EMT closed the door I put it in gear and he hit the siren as we had a Busy-US 59-4 lane highway to cross. Got out to the call and what we had was Stunning to say the least. In fact we called the Doctor-my family doc-cuz what we had even Doc admitted was weird and gross. Seems the man was putting in post holes for his new fencing and was using a larger garden tractor with an auger. I'm talking the Hard East Texas red clay. He had gotten down a bit more than a foot or so and decided to up the revs on the engine and stand on the auger bar. He slipped off right leg went into the auger and the machine bogged out just before gettin too some Really Important STUFF. His leg was wrapped around the auger almost two full turns. His screams were what alerted his Family to his plight. Tourniquit before we pulled Him and the auger out as by then we had more help. Doc had to sedate him before removal. He lost that leg just above the knee. Doc told us later at a monthly meeting just too much damage. So as a guess if you choose to use a power auger let it do the work. Apologize for the tangent. RIDE SAFE.

 Shocked

So much respect for EMTs and first responders.

Admittedly I'm a bit squeamish when things are on the grotesque side.  Don't like too much adrenaline when I'm trying to remain calm, and it's hard to convince someone everything's gonna be alright when you're trembling and barfing!

My personal Doctor when I lived in East Texas was a former Air Force Flight Surgeon. We both have crew time in Military aircraft. He was-hopefully still Is The spark plug for that E M S training and used his vast Military experience to train us. He stressed to us DO NOT LOSE IT On ANY Call. Some of the car wrecks a couple of the fires that auger call and some others Were VERY puke worthy. I NEVER lost it on a call. When we went to the Hospital I knew where the closest bathroom was to the E R Entrance. Only needed it once-and Not on the auger call. A BAD car wreck with Children involved and severely hurt was THAT call. But I held it til After they were safely in the hands of E R staff. I too have Great Respect for ALL First Responders.  cooldude That particular volunteer work gave me a good feeling when things turned out good to fair. Some we could NOT save. Some still hurt to this minute. Some of the buried deep locked away "stuff" escapes from time to time. NOT FUN at All reliving some horrors. Nuff said. RIDE SAFE.

Yes I have a 3 point post hole digger for my tractor with a 9” auger. I got my 55 Chevy back together
and waiting on the mufflers to arrive before taking it to get the exhaust bent. So today my wife and I will start digging and installing fence posts.
