Just snooping around in the CSP statistics gives me an opinion that about 85% of the fatalities occur on the front range (Pueblo to Fort Collins) and eastern plains.
The western slope's reports usually point to accidents caused by errors in reading the road, speed, and/or poor judgments. Not hardly any vehicle-motorcycle hits out here, as opposed to the urban areas of the state.
https://csp.colorado.gov/sites/csp/files/documents/2020%20MOST%20Annual%20Report_Final.pdfAn informative read for riders of our state. Some areas are riskier than others and some actions to be avoided when you are on the tar. I don't see that any of the fatals are attributed to off road riders.
Marijuana? The drug of choice is still that liquid lightning in a bottle during the drive.
I regularly pick up many "nip" bottles and empty pints of vodka on my country road (oh how I wish I could catch him/her in the act) for the past 3 years. Got a box that I've shown the town council in hopes that they'll talk with the sheriff, it's gotta be a local.
Nothing forthcoming from them means I'm still picking them up.
Today it'll hit 89* out here and I'm sure that the wheelers will be out and about like the robins of spring.
Heads up.
