Over the winter when I was getting the trike ready for travel, I rebuilt both master cylinders on the handlbars and installed a new clutch slave at the clutch. After bleeding both out, I have good clutch lever action...brakes are good but need some more bleeding. My issue is when I pull in the clutch and kick the trike into 1st gear, it goes in with a good thump and a jolt. Once in gear and moving and shifting it does fine. Makes me think the clutch isn't completely disengaging when I pull in the clutch lever and move from neutral to first gear. The motor/bike has 68k miles on it and I have no idea what oil the prior owner used. I do know just from observation while working on it that the bike was neglected. I've flushed the coolant and changed the oil/filter, I'm thinking I'll drive it for a while to see if things improve. I do know it sat for quite a spell before I bought it last fall.

I'm open to any thoughts or suggestions/experiences.

You may still have a few bubbles in the banjo fitting. When this has happened to me, I move the reservoir/master cylinder up and over the hump of the bar, so the banjo is lower than the MC. Then slowly, like a count of ten, pull the lever to meet the grip. After another count of ten or twenty, let it snap back to pull bubbles back into the MC. Repeat about 10 times, or until you're sure the clutch contact point is moving farther away from the grip. It works for the front brake, too, but takes longer as less fluid moves around.

my valk trike would do the same if it sat for a couple of weeks without being started. the oil drains out from between the clutch plates which makes them stick alittle. if it works fine after the engine warms up alittle and acts fine the rest of the day. i think your good.

That video does me absolutely no good since all in German.  I was raised by German folk but have long forgotten any of the language I may have picked up when a little kid. I'm no longer a little kid...just a little old.  Grin

You can turn on Closed Caption and change the language settings to English using the settings Icon on Youtube.   The translation isn't perfect but you should be able to make out mostly what's being stated.
