grew up watching this TV show as a young kid. My older brother, Mark, was named Mark because of his character on the Rifleman TV show. My middle name, Wayne, was given to me because of John Wayne. I guess my Dad liked watching old westerns a lot as I know he did.
Is weird I see a lot of people being diagnosed with Altheimers and in say 2-4 years they pass on. My mom was diagnosed with it some 10 or so years ago but only has gotten bad in past 4 years enough to not live at home anymore.

I , too , watched every episode as a kid living on a ranch in Texas . And , that show inspired me to shoot with and carry a rifle . I did it just like Conners did when I shot it , at my waist . Sometimes , I could shoot birds out of the air holding it like he did . Still targets is where I got good , pretty good . I could do better if I aimed in a traditional way .
I still think about that show very often

Ha, my mother named me after Bret Maverick, she loved the show.

I met Johnny once when he was about 19 and I was about 16. He was at a ranch in Thousand Oaks, Ca. where there was an amateur bull riding event each weekend. He was doing a home video and asked me and my friend to be in it with him. It was just a few minutes , then he was gone. Seemed nice enough, kind of in to him self, but I guess to be an actor you have to be.

Sorry to hear this about the ICONIC TV western "Rifleman" of losing Johnny Crawford playing Mark McCain. I watched in my early childhood but really too young when this first came out. I watched the reruns growing up in the late 60's and early 70's. I started seeing them again on early weekday mornings. Some I had not see before but always liked. The show had a good message as most back in the day. I thought Johny Crawford = Mark McCain did a great playing his role at his early age. RIP

Being a fellow of less birthdays than most... I still venture to watch the re-runs on Saturday mornings. One excellent show, long time Chuck Conners fan, rest his soul... and now Johnny :'( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fMN8a3ZRUY

Another entertainer from my past departing this life. R I P. A lot of those shows those of us in our 60s and 70s watched and enjoyed-many of those in the casts have departed this life. Pull up the casts of some of those shows and be dismayed as I was to realize how many have departed. Adam 12 The Twilight Zone Perry Mason Mash just to name a few. Last I heard no one gits outa this life alive. RIDE SAFE.
