I’ve been derelict in catching up with our friend DirtyDan. I’m not good with some things. And catching up with family and friends is not my strong suit. I’m glad our other friend DDT has bumped me out of that. The last time I saw you Dan, things had started to progress. Shortly thereafter my daughter was diagnosed with MS also. I apologize for not visiting before now. Regardless of your condition now I will forever remember you as I did in Spearfish. You were a character ! See you in a few hours  cooldude

Rob,
I know you hate when I call you that  angel, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. My son is struggling at 19 with constant vertigo and is on his 2nd specialist, he has no life when he should be thriving. Sometimes we get caught up in bickering and bullshit while at the same time forgetting each of us has our own struggles in life.

I tend to get aggressive when I feel attacked, it's just in me.. I'm sure we'd laugh about the stupid crap if we met in person. This medium is very difficult at times and we tend to act our our frustrations while missing out on 99% of the real picture.

The fact Dan is struggling also brings it home, anyway thanks to DDT for changing my think around our struggles and interactions.

Humans.. whaddya gonna do.. haha

Rob,

Man, I really appreciate you coming up and spending the afternoon with Dan & me! We had a great visit, and we got to meet those wonderful folks Dan calls mom & pop... I enjoyed all of our conversations with all of them...

Dan surprised me with his mental alertness appearing to not have missed a beat!!! His spirits seem good, and he appears to me to be at peace with himself, his condition, and his fate. I do admire that hugely! He is an unusual guy to most of us, but there is a good reason I think... at least in my case, his IQ is much higher, and he always seems to be several steps ahead of me...

Hard to fully grasp any of that, though, as our interests and experiences vary widely, so we seem to 'speak in tongues' to each other sometimes. I have great respect for him, though, not only for his smarts, but for his life of boldly forging ahead, meeting and overcoming challenges, and taking life as it comes at him... all while maintaining a positive outlook and pleasant disposition. It was good to spend time with him. Thanks again... Looking forward to the ride to Payson tomorrow, too!
