I am a dummy.  (yah do not agree so soon).  I bought used on craigslist a set of hwy. pegs and clamps with 6 inch extensions for my kids 1985 v30 magna good deal 3 weeks ago.  Well,  I went to install today the clamps are too big was guessing ones came on were 1.25 inside diameter so ordered 1 1/8th as our Valks have.  Well,  am up 3.5 hours north today wanting to do a simple ONE 3/4 inch bolt install onto kids frame and clamps now TOO SMALL.   I took off the original clamps that came used and saw 1.35 inside diameter thinking would be 1.25 as normal, NOT the next size up.  IDIOT!

So,  not so sure the company in TX will take them back even though technically not installed just dry fitted is all not tightening NO way will they go on about 3/4 inch sticking out where the long bolt goes thru.  I should have taken off the old clamps FIRST before just assuming was 1.25 inches.  I did measure the diameter of the magna's frame and sure looked 1 1/8th to me not 1.25.  Oh well,  will see if can return them or not without charging a re-stocking fee?  Am close though to 30 days out since purchase so will see me calling them on Monday?   Pretty common 1.25 inch clamps all over to buy am sure.

I did at least get the national cycle plexistar 2 windshield on his magna today took 1 1/2 hours to adjust and re-adjust the 4 bolts/clamps on the front forks and handlebars and making sure no hoses get pinched which the clutch tubing comes very close to pinching moving with windshield on side to side.    VERY tight and close fit the windshield is only like 1/16 inch from hitting the front turn signals not much clearance up there at all.

Yah,  if I took off the OLD clamp the pegs came with and looked underneath saying 1.35 I would have spent more time and thought prior to going 1 1/8" vs. 1.25 new clamps.  I guess if the place does not take them back I can keep them for the Valk since my 2nd Valk has the pain in the butt 4 small screw systems 3-piece design clamp (I think Rivco, not sure)   which takes a lot more time to adjust and get tight vs. ONE bolt for the upfront hwy. pegs.  Always good to have a backup I guess?

There is a place 35 miles away with old spare cycle parts stacked way high all over their basement area in bins and on tables might get lucky and find me an old set of magnum quick clamps 1.25 inch for 20 bucks or so next week?
