Just checking in as a new Valkyrie owner from Kansas.

I bought a 2001 CD with 9k miles a while back, have been lurking here, soaking up knowledge. I decided it was time to post a "hello" message.

I've been enjoying (mostly tech board) posts. Thanks to everyone who helps us newbies out!

Welcome. Make sure you check in with the Kansas members here. One of the admins, Carl (Willow) Holmes and his wife Lori (Motomama) live in Olatha. There are many others. Again welcome to the club. ..

Ted,
Welcome to a wonderful group of Valkyrie riders.   Should you be able, I would highly encourage you to consider coming to INZANE in Athens, OH this June.   You will see some beautiful Valkyries and meet some really good folks.

Welcome, the knowledge on Valkyries on here is enormous.  it can also be a good source for products. I agree with Rams, if at all possible come to Inzane. I went the 2nd year of owning my phat girl and have been to each since. this will be my 4th. The folks that organize it all do a great job and the places they pick are some really wonderful riding.

You got the right bike. The 01 CD's are the best, prettiest, and fastest.

Thanks for recommendation, but I won't be able to make Inzane this year. Maybe next year!

Understood, you'll be welcome any year.   They tend to alternate the locations from east to west of the Mississippi River.   One never knows where it's gonna be the next year but, you can bet it won't be in Rosalia, KS.   They already told me no..  Wink

Where's home or where do you ride that Valkyrie?   Helps to know who you can meet up with.

Bighead - well it didn't win this..

Chisj CMA - Both have Attic Rats performance package. Though I run an I/S ICM I'd bet they run like their handlebars were glued together.

Salina..............   Oh Yeah, some fine memories were made in Salina.   Used to date a very nice young lady there.  Hesston, yep been there many times even though it was years ago.  Does the Kansas Highway Patrol still give ya 9 mph over the posted speed limit?   Seems like I was always at least 10 over.   2funny   Welcome.   cheers

I married a fine young lady there.  Wink Hesston doesn't change much.

I usually don't risk it more than 5 over, though I did rip my Valk to 105 getting up on the interstate from Hesston, only to see the Higway Patrolman sitting in the median a quarter of a mile ahead. He must've been trying to locate the Ferrari making all the noise (see my truck stacks in the photos), and ignored me. Needless to say, I shut down pretty quickly when I saw him. :-D
