Hello all,

I joined the club, and was encouraged to check in with my Kansas brethren.

I just bought a 2001 CD with 9k miles, and truck stacks on it. I live in Salina.

So far, I've enjoyed learning from the group, and look forward to further interactions.

Good for you.  Honestly, I believe Facebook will ultimately bring about the demise of the VRCC message boards.

There's not much activity on the Kansas board but there are certainly several Kansas riders that frequent the General board.

I have a lot to say about social media platforms, but will spare you all of that.

I have already met two Valkyrie riders in the (tiny) town where I work. One came up to me and and said, "What do you think of your dragon?" We hit it off right away. Another saw it in the parking lot, and bought one a month later.

Thanks for your reply and encouragement.

I am in Salina and have a red and black super valk.  I see more and more bikes around town anymore.  Its good to see more people getting valks.

I hardly ever get on here anymore, but if you see a fat fella on a red and black with tall bars flag me down!

I do "social media" here and on a guitar forum. I just now stole this from
the other forum... it got a big laugh over there...

If you wanted to give the internet an enema, Facebook is where you would insert the nozzle.

Yeah, will do! Mine's black with a white stripe down the middle of the fenders and fuel tank. She is winterized at the moment, but that doesn't mean I won't take her for a spin on a 40°+ day! Hope to see you around!

Welcome Clarkcelt!

Sorry for the late response. There is a decent group of us kansas. I am just east of you in Topeka.   I will work to get a lunch together in September.  I'll post it in the Kansas thread.

I moved to KC in September 2018. I do not do Facebook (or twitter, or just about anything). I am pretty active on the General and the P&M forums Smiley  . I grew up in Hutchinson, up to graduating from HCC, whereupon I transferred to KU where I met my wife. I graduated from KU in Dec 1983 , commisioned as a Navy officer, and left Kansas (except for visits / burying Mom and Dad) until we moved back here because MIL needed us to (she is now in Assisted living / Memory Care). I currently have one brother in Topeka, one in Hutch, and my sister is also in Hutch.  A Number of relatives from Dad's side also reside in Hutch, and at least one rides a Harley  - I  don't want to deal with alot of the interfamily drama. This last summer wasn't too good for me for riding - herniated disc right above the hips made it a bit too painful, but after seeing a chiropracter intern at the Cleveland CHiro College this summer I feel much better.

My Valk is a 1998 Red / Cream Standard, with a too tall windshield and leather saddlebags. I would dearly love to sometime acquire an Interstate tank and get a shorter windshield .

I have met Carl (Willow) and Ron (Rams) once when Ron was up this way.
