Whenever I sing Over the Rainbow [ full version] to JoAnn she starts crying. I like to think she cries because she's happy and enjoys it, but, then, it just might be because it hurts her ears.

It's a beautiful song.  From a favorite movie.

Saw this one when watching that.  Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk, synchronized with the old school dancers of yesterday!  It's a fun morph!

When our daughter was fussy. I played this and would dance across the kitchen floor with her in my arms and sing to her. Quieted her down every time. She turned 23 last Sunday.

It was 1980 and I was on my first date, with a "black haired beauty with big dark eyes."

I (we) my wife and I, listen to music a lot, both on the bike and at home.

At home we play music via Pandora because I can sort of tailor what I want to listen to and have a variety of choices.

What came to my attention the other day was most, if not all, of the music we prefer is almost pre Y2K.

Yes I know we are sort of old (by most standards) but still songs I thought were sort of new are really old.

So,  a song always brings back a memory for me (and I might have told this story before) is

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS90B4sZf7U

There are several versions of this song but this is the one that gets played most.

The year, 1967.  The place, Clemson University.  The time, early evening.  My current girl friend and I were at the University (don't remember why) and we were headed into the Canteen.  The Canteen is/was on the Quadrangle.  At the time, the number of female students was something like 200 compared to the 2,000 or so male students.  As we walked into the Canteen that evening, (she was an attractive young lady) almost every male eye in the canteen turned to look and The Animals were playing on the Jukebox.

Her name was Linda C.  She did not attend Clemson.  She lived with her parents in a small town just outside of Columbia, SC.  The house is still there today, on a slight rise, although no longer occupied.  Every time I take the back way (normal way for me) to Myrtle Beach, I pass her home.

I don't know what happened why we broke up, maybe it was me joining the Navy later that year and leaving Clemson.

I apologize for the long story.  Memories exist for reasons.   Some good, some bad.  This one is a good memory for many reason.
