The brake master went out and a buddy had a pair of chrome ones.  I haven't put the clutch side on yet.

I tend to agree with you on cycling alone is MY time.  I do not mind small groups though say 2-5 people mostly of same driving skill/speed.  Much more than that,  there is always someone either going too fast or too slow to not make it as enjoyable as it could be.  Last group ride I did a few years ago the older gent in front of me was braking extremely early and even into the corners way too long and way too slow, but that was I guess his comfort zone.  I just learned to back off from him a TON after the 1st few corners found it not as enjoyable trying to keep track of him into the corners vs. having fun being alone into the corners.   Then, when it comes to eating somewhere with a larger group,  I got frustrated eating at McD's for 2 hour break vs. say should have been 30-45 minutes,  being bored to death not riding.

So how do you like riding the Harley vs the Valk? Harley's seem clunky and almost painful in cornering, scraping floorboards in a turn you barely lean on would drive me nuts. Does it feel really doggy in acceleration compared to the Valk?

I also like to ride alone or with my gal on the back, riding alone is a Zen experience and my mind wanders all over the place as wind sweeps all the stress garbage off me and replaces it with fresh thoughts and a feeling of euphoria.

On your Valk do you have to look through the windshield? I have mine set up so I don't have to do that and I get more wind in my face, using a half helmet is great for wind in the face and I don't like to have it spoiled. Having said that I do get hit with bee stings and other objects in the face at times so there's that  Cool

Thanks for the videos, I enjoyed them.  I watched all three videos and would throw out here that I was thinking about doing a thread comparing the RustyValkrie to my RoadKing Classic.  I'm just not sure how folks here would receive it.  There are some interesting similarities AND differences and I think it would be a fun comparison.

I have ridden a Harley several times when I rented one in Kauai. Nice bike and did the job but it made me appreciate my Valk even more.

My friend had 2 Road Kings, a 99 and an 04 I think. Now he has a newer Road Glide. I rode his older bikes and enjoyed them a lot, though it wasn't on twisting roads. They definitely have a different feel, it's personal preference mostly.

I also, enjoy  solo riding.  Only  time I'm ina group is the Toy Run or ABATE 's run to the Capital.  Rain just slows me down  10 mph.  My favorite  rain bike is the  '83 Honda 650 GLI.  Slices through  the rain like a  demon!   Those roads look  horrible  but the  vid seem very  smooth  ??    I try to explain  to those who dont  get motorcycles,  that for me, riding is both Totally  focused  yet Totally  relaxed  at the same time.  "The lazy mans zen".

I've tried out some Harley's and the Valkyries are much better bikes for handling. For a big bike they are very nimble. I said wouldn't have a big bagger but when I tried out a Valkyrie, I was like? This would be nice for me and wife along with being fun riding one up. Wife loves it and I like can motor around one up in twisty roads.

They are very different bikes.  I'm going to do a video soon with a point by point comparison.  The short version - The Valk is faster, Harley has more grunt down low.  Harley handles like garbage but has a nicer foot position.

I look through the shield but can look over it if I crane my neck.
