Got this from one my granddaughters, reminded me of a town in NW Iowa where we lived right after the war. Population 500...and we did have a couple town drunks. Oh the stories I heard as a kid, there's a bit of truth in the sign.  Grin

Hope this video plays, it cracked me up. You have to click on the sound thingy at lower right.

Not sure what the limit or ratio is but I grew up in a town of 300 and we had one town drunk.

although not as common anymore,  back growing up in nearby town of at that time 900 in the 70's having 5 bars downtown there were a ton of town drunks daily.  I do not see that as much now in either town mine being now 1200 people but having 6 bars in a one street downtown area seems excessive to me.  I have only been in 1 of the bars in 25 years here so doing pretty good behaving myself drinking at home.

Shoot, back in the days of the 70's, our local police guy would drive drunks home from the bars to their house vs. now they 'cop out' at closing time downtown waiting for people to leave and then follow them stopping them giving them tickets when driving around after bar time.

Dad told me the town he was raised in was so small that if someone used an electric shaver the flashing light at the crossroad quit working. RIDE SAFE.
