Still not sure if I'll make it to InZane this month.  If I do it'll be spur of the moment and only for the last couple days.

Having said that I doing things that need done to prepare for the trip.  A couple days ago I borrowed my neighbor's compression tester.  All cylinders were all about 125.

Then I put the Digisync on it.  My bench sync wasn't too bad.  Cylinders 2, 5 and 6 needed some adjustment/fiddling but I got them to within 1 of being the same.  A test ride seemed to show some affect but time will tell.  I still want to get a tool to set the idle screws.

I need to pull the radiator to replace the thermostat and radiator hoses for peace of mind.  I need to replace the thermoswith on the radiator, the current one failed and I've been using a handlebar switch to control the cooling fan.  I'd rather not go into another trip like that.  We'll see if I can get it done.

I also need to address the wind buffeting from the lower front end, get better fitting highway pegs installed and get an sirhawk cushion as concessions to comfort.

Not sure I'll get it all done in time.

This is the one I use. It has nice smooth die cut gears.

I'm not going to make InZane because I'm in the middle of painting my skoolie.  That makes Saving the RustyValkyrie look like child's play.

Yes, it'll be home for 6 months of the year.  No, the Valk won't fit through the door.  This first year I'll pull my 12' enclosed motorcycle trailer behind it, which is why I cut the last 8' of the bus off.    I'll keep my eyes open for a wheel chair lift which I'll use to make a lift platform I can carry a motorcycle on.

That property is my friend's farmlette in western NJ.

The right side mirror is way off to the extent that I can't see anything useful with it.  It made backing down the hill a lot more interesting that I'd have preferred on a driveway not much wider than the bus.   I had no idea how close I was to those rocks.  I'm glad I didn't do any damage.

Does that bus have a naturally aspirated 7.3 International diesel in it?

I had a 1990 Ford F-250 diesel with that motor in it.. loved it and drove it all over hell and back. Had to junk it after the trans went out for the second time and I didn't have time to fix it, by then I'd already bought my 1995 Dodge Ram with the 2nd gen Cummins 12 valve in it.. love that one even more.  smitten

It's an '04 with the 7.3 turbo and an Allison 2000.
