40 years

Yesterday was our anniversary.   40 years ago, I got hitched.   
She only went out with me because of the car I was driving at the time.   So, thinking that was the case, I made sure our first six dates were on my KZ1000.   

It seems to have worked out alright, she still tolerates me............

Its kind of a funny story how I met my wife [ the 2nd one].  Our first date, I guess it was a date, was on a motorbike [ Chopped Triumph ] then it was in a Mini-Cooper and Bug-eye Sprite [ with a c code 289] for the next few years.  I'm surprised we ended up married.

Even though your anniversary was yesterday, do something special for her again today... it'll get you some extra brownie points (and you probably need them). 

Was gonna mow the lawn for her but, it rained (you may remember, that's when water droplets fall from the sky).   If I don't get it done before I leave for InZane, she'll have to do it while I'm gone or hire it done.   I left her a buck 2 ninety eight to do whatever she wants to do with it.   What more could a person ask for?   Tried to share my left over sushi (two days old) but, she declined.   But then, so did her cats.   Damn picky if you ask me.    I've even offered to toss the laundry into the washer but, she seems to think her "delicates" are better than my sweat pants.   Guess I'll go change her oil.  No, not her oil, her vehicle's oil.     She needs to learn to do some of this on her own, I mean really, someone needs to do this stuff while I'm out enjoying a ride ya know.

wow, that is impressive 40 years and for most even more than that.  Congrats.

will be pushing 30 years in 2023 and surely does not seem like 30 years more like 15 years is all.

Time surely flew by from when the kids were very young in diapers to now in college or outta college recently even.    I know is a cliche (spelling?) ,  but is true.

Not sure we will make 50 though, but should unless I kick the bucket first....

Me and the Missus are pretty sure we can make 40 years (34 years this August), but we're not too sure about 50 years and beyond. We simply didn't get married early enough, and we may run into health issues (we are simply being realistic). And yes - this is both of our first and only marriage.

For those of you who have gone further - "SALUTE". And Congratulations.

At our 20th anniversary, I was up early as usual, was reading the paper.   She came down and asked me why I was so intent reading the paper.   Told her that our old friend Carl had just got paroled from attempted murder conviction of his finance.  He got twenty years.   With a straight face, I said, he only got twenty and I'm still here.  

That went over like a screen door in a submarine.    

Anyway, we've made it another 20 years and being honest, I'm untrainable and don't have the energy to train another spouse so, I'm think'n I'll keep her.
