Wish I was out riding...

I don't know the details but she dropped the scooter I am guessing at the campground where she was going to spend the night on her way.   Mt. Pocono Campground.   She screwed up her ankle and will be having surgery on it but I don't know when, probably today.

I am heading out this morning to get the scooter and will bring it to my house for now and then will coordinate on getting Karen home when she is able to.

Shorty let me know yesterday evening and he and I an Karen have been communicating to figure it out.  It is only about 120 miles from here to where she is.

They put a splint on her ankle last night and gave her pain medication so she said she was good Smiley   The ankle does need surgery and she mentioned the hospital (St. Lukes Hospital Monroe Campus) does a lot of the surgeries on skiers so she is having it done there.

I will update when I can.

Well that sucks.  What a stroke of bad luck.  I hope the surgery and healing go well.

What a shame. Seems like Karen has more than her share of bad luck. Sad

Damn we just left Ohio in our truck and trailer and went right by Mt Pocono if we had only known yesterday we could have hauled it back to Mass for her.

Steven and I made the trip and got here scooter and the stuff that was still strapped to the seat.  Steven texted with Karen as I was driving and asked if the docs had let her know when she might be able to travel but she did not know and said they probably need to put an external stabilizer on the ankle first.

We had to get back as the boy had just come off work when we left this morning and he needed to get home to get a few hours of sleep before doing a double tonight.  He did a good job securing the scooter for me.

DanL called me and is planning on coming down to get Karen when she is able to travel.  We should be able to get her home with no issue when the time comes.

From talking with the people at the camp ground Karen checked in and then had an issue when she left the office.  The road was gravel and a little soft.  The gentleman said Karen was quite the woman and telling jokes and stuff while waiting for the ride to the hospital.  Sounds about right Smiley

It turns out that I was confused (and what is new about that) and Karen will likely have the surgery tomorrow.   I asked if she need some stuff from her gear and she asked "Why, are you planning to jump in the room unannounced?"   Typical Karen and brings back memories of when we visited her at Brigham and Women's hospital back up in MA a bunch of years back when we walked in unannounced an the nurse was dressing her and Karen said "I pay men good money to look at those   blush

I will try to keep up here the best that I can.

It's now scheduled for Next Monday (21st).  Guess they want the swelling to go down even more.  I can't post her messages because they are typically Karen and make us all blush.  Shocked   She is a trooper and amazing person.  Glad to be able to call her a friend.  smitten

Brett you too are amazing with all you have done in helping her out.  cooldude
