Monday June 14 2021 day two of Inzane so instead of thinking about the fun and sights to see there, I decided to take the day off as the weather here is certainly as good as it is there and the landscape is always spectacular!  I said to my honey Sunday evening “ postpone what ever you have happening tomorrow, your coming with me!” I got the Valk all prettied up for the venture Sunday evening as well.

She sure is pretty……at least to me.

Took off at the leisurely time of 9:30 am. and headed west to Canmore on the old 1A highway as it is quieter traffic wise and more scenic than the Trans Canada highway. That can be a bit of a misleading statement but your traveling faster and missing some of the sights on the #1 so I try to avoid it especially when my wife is with me.

I have a favourite table at a pub at a place called the Rose & Crown in Canmore and being Monday I knew we would have no problem getting it!
What’s really cool about this picture, is that if you stare at it long enough, the REAL “Three Sisters” will appear in the background!  Cheesy

Absolutely no one on the patio…….perfect!

Just my gal and myself enjoying the view!  Cool

On the way I had a fight it’s a wasp! It got up under my visor and and beat my nose to death  Angry! It got me three or four times hence the swelling. Was glad I was wearing sunglasses under the visor.

Now to get to hwy40, we have to take hwy1 but is not to far to the turnoff and I gotta tell ya it’s one of my favourite highways to get to as it is very scenic.

A couple of mountain goats

My girl enjoying the heat the seat and the mountains!

Yours truly with one of my InZane shirts enjoying the heat the seat and a great view of the ……. Well you know!  Grin

Strike a pose honey!  smitten

Okay, now I’m bragging!!!  cooldude

Only put on just short of 400 km. It was hot and I was glad to get home to where it was cool and I could watch the hockey game.

All in all it was a super day so I guess what I’m saying is if you had your plans changed or for whatever reason InZane wasn’t in the cards for you…….make your own adventure if possible and don’t forget to wear an old InZane t- shirt!

I believe I sat at that same table and drank a beer called rutting elk a few days before we met in Calgary

That sound about right?

Rutting Elk you would have been a block or two away at a place called Grizzly Paw. Good beer and food there as well.

We could see the "real 3 sisters" from our hotel unit in Canmore

What an incredible week that was

Glad we got to share a piece of it with you and G.R.

T-man, I'm right there with you...I think your Valk is pretty too...always have, and would love to see her (you too Wink)make her way over the Rockies to Grand Forks this September. Really great photos...your mountains there outside of Calgary as well as ours here sure do make the perfect backdrop for our Valkyries.
I've been to the Rose & Crown...in fact I think I've sat at that very table (obviously not on a Monday, since it was available to this BC'er) and I swear I never saw those mountains out that window. Are you sure you didn't just photo-shop the REAL "Three Sisters" from my Province into that photo?  Grin

Great post T-man.   cooldude

Great photos too.

This one is a real keeper.   Smiley

If I got stung on the nose it would swell so big, the rest of my face wouldn't show in the picture.

All I got last ride was a cicada blow almost into my ear.  I reached in to get rid of him and smushed him all over my neck.  It was not finger licking good.  Grin

Evan, just thinking, the Grizzly Paw is a micro-brewery that makes Rutting Elk but that doesn’t mean the Rose & Crown didn’t sell it at that time, so you may have sat at that table! Not sure if it’s bad business to have your competitor neighbour selling your brew or not.

Haha!
My nose looked bad enough the next day I went to a clinic to get it checked out. Anti-biotics and some kinda super polysporn.

Mike, I gotta tell you I’m seriously considering September! Is there a thread going with the details?

That would be great, Terry. Yes, go the BC forum page and scroll down about 10 messages. We will be updating it with a new post next week, where attendees can start reserving rooms. Johnny's Motel  blocked the  whole place off for us for those dates after we postponed from the regular June date, so we could wait a bit to see if/when the Canada/US border would open up as such a large part of our regular group is from WA and ID. It looks promising, I'm sure the border will be open by September, and even  if it's not, the Canadian contingent will still show up.
Check out the BC board again next week. If you make it, your route out will take you right by your Alberta Three Sisters as well as what they claim to be the Three Sisters there in SE BC, and then if you're up for a good long day ride that weekend, I'll lead you out from Grand Forks to my neck of the woods so you can get a photo op on that beautiful Valk of yours with the REAL Three Sisters  2funny
