I don't remember his name, but my newest hero is the 96 year old gentleman who competed in the Slow Race.
His name was David Carter.
This man is now one of my heroes and someone I hope to emulate. His quiet humility made it even better, on top of the fact he rode to Inzane himself... I'll be happy to still be around converting O2 to CO2 at 96, much less still taking multi-day motorcycle rides!

I loved being a part of the youngest rider and the oldest rider together..... 18 and 96, quite a spread!

I loved the camaraderie. I loved that there isn't a PaM forum at Inzane, nor is there a need for one. I loved that when there was a need, members would argue over who got to be the one to fill that need.
I loved how Kali was looked after, how her antics were accepted, letting her enter her wheelchair in the bike show: (And running her through the tennis ball snatch in her wheelchair for the bike rodeo; btw I saw some cameras out while we did that, if anyone has pics or video of that I'd love to see 'em!)

I loved catching Willow's bike developing an "oil leak"

I loved when a member's carbs were leaking, Mad6Gun, in a hotel parking lot far from home, did a full carb removal, tear down, repair and replacement (The very thought of doing that myself, at home, given a month of Sundays terrifies me!)

I loved that after the accident the left mirror was shattered so I took it off to stop dripping broken glass everywhere, and someone just replaced it in the parking lot. They told me later, but I missed who it was (If anyone knows please tell me so I can give credit where due!)

And that when I tried to buy a replacement foot peg from Da Prez when he learned it was to replace a part on Kali's bike, he refused payment.
Pies.

The train ride, a good excuse to just sit and chat with fellow members.....

Reuniting with old friends and making new ones at the Early Bird Sunday BBQ was also greatness...

...and that's all just off the top of my head.
Too many rewarding and memorable experiences to fully enumerate, but they all circle back to one thing - great people gathering together for a great time and supporting a great cause.
